| | Why can't they make a decent pizza.
I rarely eat pizza, i can't recall ever having had one as good as in my childhood and well never mind the gluten and the lactose.
My dream is to find a decent pepperoni one,
so I bought a dr Oetker pepperoni salami one, god disgusting, i had to finish it though... despite it having sub standard pepperoni, sub standard crust, sub standard cheese and substandard sauce. The sauce had a bit of heat I guess to pretend the pepperoni wasn't as mingy as it was but the base was the worst. it should have come with a warning on it, I'm glad it was on sale but it was still too much.
So my question is which is your favourite grocery pizza (frozen or fresh), is it possible to find a good pepperoni one? |

Sure you maybe pay Chf 20.-- but the enjoyment, the pleasure is easily worth it for a good pizza | This user would like to thank for this useful post:

I never buy the frozen ones, but every now and then a "fresh" one in a supermarket if the lady has to do overtime and will eat at work, since well it's cheap and incredible lazy food and the taste is decent.
If you want a really good pizza at home I fear there's only two options. Buy the dough (or make it yourself) and all the toppings and build it yourself, or go to eat.ch

Real pepperoni doesn't exist outside the US.

'Ristorante' a bit of unmitigated cheek.. 'eat when very drunk or you might taste it' would be more honest.
I am now nursing a stomach ache that I thought for sure would only arrive tomorrow.

Don't do readymade pizzas. Dinner is in the oven with fresh homegrown tomatoes & courgettes. The base is bought. I liked Pizza Hut thick crust back in the middle ages but they closed down here.

Best I've had, and I get them on a regular basis is the Buitoni Napoli. Super thin and cooks in 6 minutes. I add my own toppings (I have only seen it in 'Tre formagi'): mozzarella and whatever else I feel like, plus dried oregano. Always turns out great. (crunchy crust and a softer inner part) Regarding pepperoni, does not exist here. (as far as I know) I think they usually use chorizo or as they sometimes call it 'spicy salami'

I've yet to find a pizza here that has a salami similar to U.S. pepperoni. So I order prosciutto instead because I like that too and won't be disappointed.
There is a good pizza place we used to go to in Geneva when visiting friends. I forget the name. They had a tasty salami pizza - not like pepperoni but good. I'll see if Mr Wishes can remember the name of the place.
Today only is right though, it will cost more than a frozen pizza. | The following 2 users would like to thank 3Wishes for this useful post:

Pizza Taxi in Vevey uses salami piccante from Italy.

They can't make decent pizza that you like? Element of diversion, they promote happiness so that you don't unnecessarily procrastinate and make your own pizza at home ... and the way you like it.

Personally, I find 'nduja works best.

Not your style probably, but in Meilen there's a proper Italian place that makes Napoli style pizza. Highly recommended.

Meet me in Vevey. We'll get you a nice pizza. | | | | | I'm a glutton for punishment, I also at the same time bought a good fellas pepperoni frozen pizza (also on offer), which I will have this evening, I don't know how much more bad pizza i will be able to take but i wouldn't be testing the limits if i didn't also buy a good fellas gluten free frozen pepperoni pizza (also on offer, it seems to be put people off pizza week in the uk) so thats sunday probably ruined too.
as for your kind 'save me from myself' offer of a pizza in Vevey, unless thats near Oxford I won't be able to make it. Thank you for the kind offer. |

Thank you for the kind offer. | | | | | There are loads of fresh pizzerias in Oxford (no need at all to buy those frozen things) and most of them have a takeaway service so why don't you simply work your way through them all??
#1 son personally likes the Dominos in Abingdon and there's a couple of branches in north Oxford.
Jami Oliver even has a pizzeria right in the centre, just by Gloucester Green.
