Roasting Coffee & Green Coffee Beans

Hi Everyone,

Thinking diving into roasting my own coffee. Has anyone done this before? What equipment did you use and where did you purchase it? Trying to find green coffee beans but haven't been able to find any local shop.

Any shared experience or tips if much appreciated.

Not so far, as too much else needing urgent attention. I'll post it ever I find a source.

This one doesn't look too bad:

Oops -edit sorry, realised you're after the beans, not the roaster. Can't help there as I get mine in the UK

Re: Roasting Coffee & Green Coffee Beans

Was finally able to find some green coffee to roast with a reasonable shipping cost (the shipping less than the cost of coffee).

You find some at roastrebels.ch

Cheers!

And was it worth the effort? I cant really see the point in doing this yourself as its easier just to find a company or brand offering a mix to suit your own needs, saves the faff, the cleaning, the energy use!

Re: Roasting Coffee & Green Coffee Beans

In Zurich when I was home coffee roasting I bought 1kg packs of greens from Kaffee Werkstadt shop or asking gently to Kaffee Pur.

I used first a popcorn roaster (use an extension cord to make to reduce the power) and then a 300g Hottop electric roaster connected to the free software Artisan on my laptop to control the machine and the profile.

Now I went pro on a Genio gas 6kg machine
Cheers
Taro
