Saw the back bacon at the Coop yesterday. Green Bio packaging and labled as “Bacon”.
And costs around 6chf for three feeble slices.

Re: Sausage & Bacon

If I knew how to post a photo I could show you a packet of four slices for F4.85. Or F54/kg.

And I too sell their sausages and bacon in Zürich, the sausages are among the best I have ever had.

Are they always on at your place or just for pre orders? I might take a trip along today.

Cheers

Re: Sausage & Bacon

I had a perfectly acceptable full Irish at Flanagan's in Basel yesterday after a 60k bike ride. Hausgemacht sausages, proper back bacon and both black and white pudding (and none of those nasty baked beans you get in Migros - shame on you, Union Diner). Up to the standard of any UK greasy spoon. Probably a bit far for you though, unless you fancy getting a bit sweaty...

Re: Sausage & Bacon

Do you know where to get nitrate free bacon? What would it say in French and/or German on the packaging?

Nitrite is Nitritpökelsalz in German. I doubt you can find this bacon in Coop / Migros.
Maybe here:

If it doesn't contain nitrites, it's not real bacon.
