Denmark.

Though I find that coops cheap and cheerful maxi-packs do the job nicely. Various styles of bread are fine with it. For sausages, Denner's chipolatas aren't bad.

Denmark.

...
On my first trip to Denmark (1989) I was extremely disappointed with Danish bacon, so much so that we got Danish bacon sent to us from UK supermarkets.

Have things improved in the last few decades?

I think your home page could do with an update. Christmas greetings still showing, and no mention there of bacon or sausages...

Re: Sausage & Bacon

mmm...sausages facebook group all sausages are gluten free and very tasty English, irish and cumberland, they also do bacon, black pudding, pork pies, chicken and mushroom pies, steak pies, and specials like chicken tikka pies, pork and apple sausages.

Not affiliated just a happy customer, the downside they don't have a shop but do fairly regular drop offs at Zurich HB.

Meat is generally gluten free = meaningless advertising claim

Does the shop in Viadukt also prepare the Bacon Sandwich or a real Full English Breakfast?

Meat alone yes, but sausages are never pure meat. The rusk is often wheat based although it can be rice based as well.

Unfortunately not, I can't cook here although I can toast/warm my bagels so thinking of creating an English Breakfast bagel come the winter. For the best English Breakfast in town you need Bubbles cafe, I love it there.

Re: Sausage & Bacon

Back Bacon, as opposed to streaky bacon, is available at the Coop. At least at the Signy centre hypermarket. On the shelves opposite the butcher about a third of the way along (from the right).

Jim's in Gland http://www.jimsbritishmarket.ch also have British Bacon and, sometimes, cumberland sausages (from a butcher in Aubonne)

They are talking about "proper" sausages. Adding strange things to food is a British tradition since Victorian times https://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...add-to-it.html

If you want the full cultural immersion get a hot dog at Hyde Park.

Most U.K. sausages are not gluten-free. Most Swiss ones are.

I've never been one to worry about gluten, quite happily trying to stuff a full Irish into a french baguette (fusion cuisine?), but I've a friend who does tend to worry. Whilst ordering a breakfast he requested gluten free sausages which made me wonder was there such a thing. Apparently a lot of cafes and shops sell gluten free varieties of English and Irish sausages with rice (mainly) or oats for the rusk.

Probably because most Swiss sausages contain nothing that could contain gluten. British sausages on the other hand:

It's funny how people associate gluten free with healthy. If you're not sensitive to gluten, then stick with the non-gluten free. It's usually better for you.
