FTFY.

At the end of the day it's McD's responsibility, the company's in general, to make sure their employees conform to rules, regulations and laws.

Of course, was just irritated by st2lemans PETA comment .
But again, at the end of the day many a religious person would disagree that humans are animals.

Newsflash: People flipping burgers at McDonalds got some orders wrong. In related news: water is wet.

The only thing in this piece of news is that vegetarians are the only ones getting that upset about an obvious fact of life: If you eat at a place where the staff is paid minimum wage will you get the matching level of service... nobody in his right mind believes that this is some sort of anti vegetarian conspiracy of McD staff... they simply arent the brightest crayons in the box and occasionally get their receipes mixed up, especially with the stuff thats new and not too popular.

You'll find that the definition of animal varies from country to country (and even within countries), culture to culture and by religion.
My wife is often rambling on about animals, when in fact she is talking about stink-bugs!

Not going there...
Seems to be that vegetarianism / vegan / Pescetarianism is right up there with religion when it comes to things not to discuss over a dinner table or at work (or with Swiss people).

Re: Chicken is the new Vegan!

Attitudes, recipes are changing, we are more aware of veg benefits and have started to treat it as a norm. We live on the same planet, we are different, mistakes happen, learn from this, move on, don't pollute the news with ' disgusting, disgraceful, fuming' words. They don't know the meaning of these words, they reduce them down to describing FWPs.

No problems with vegetarians and vegans, problem with the choice of words.

This is interesting, although would maybe need a new thread.

Even having not eaten meat from mammals since 1983'ish, I don't keep up with all the hype, but it has been a learning process. I'm fine with fish.

You expect it. The point is what has been revealed in the media just shows you the level of competence and lack of care that is behind the preparation of the food in such establishments.
They simply don't care.
I have a friend who worked there for a time and she simply couldn't believe the things that went on.
Oil that was meant to be changed every third batch of fries or something, left in there for hours, used over and over again.
Stuff that falls on the floor, behind counters or machinery, picked up and put back in with the rest and served to customers.
Unused stock put back in the freezer after being out all day etc. etc.
And this was in Switzerland.
The pay is low so the staff aren't motivated. The result is basic hygiene and food preparation standards simply not being adhered to.
So no, I am not surprised that chicken is served as vegetarian in McDonald's. Not in the slightest.
I also have a friend who worked in a fast food "restaurant" and as a result she's never eating fries from Mac or the likes....whatever.
As for the staff being demotivated because of the petty pay, I don't think it's only that. In general, people tend to try their best to do a good job. But the speed at which they all have to work is incredible. Have you seen those hungry crowds? It's a continuos flow. I'm in trouble when I have to organise a dinner for more than 4 adults and 4-5 kids...

Maccy Ds were late getting onto the veggie bandwagon, but I've been enjoying BurgerKing's spicy beanburgers for about 30yrs, and they're lush. Oh...and chilli cheese bites in winter mmmm....
I replaced the fries with salad and Italian dressing and have to say their salads are pretty decent. I haven't seen spicy bean burgers in BurgerKing here...not that I'm going very often but I guess I would have noticed it on the menu by now. I like their onion rings. (not too often and not too much though - I share a portion with my daughter)

Not only no, but I'd say it was a pretty major factor.
