English Cider

Is there a source for good (craft) Cider in Switzerland? I like it dry. Most shops sell very sweet or even flavoured atrocities.

I found www.ciderhouse.ch but 10+CHF for a pint is not a longterm solution.

Re: English Cider

Yes, but thats like comparing fresh pressed orange juice with a cheap store brand. It's even made out of concentrate too.

The reason you don't get much English (or other foreign) ciders is that there is a large import duty on apple products. I sell Sam Smiths organic Dry Cider here in ZH which is very popular and I should be getting some ciders from a smaller producer in Hereford next month.

Re: English Cider

see this link for various small manufacturers

you will also find different suppliers (depending on your zip code) on farmy.ch if you search for Apfelwein, cider etc.

Re: English Cider

Now I’m wanting a pear cider. Anything available?

I found this cider related note which sounded interesting and perhaps worth some additional research. https://ciderexplorer.wordpress.com/...y/swiss-cider/
