Thanks for all your responses

I personally also suggested that "drink plain water" would be the best solution, but was shot down by management

I think if we do anything now then it will probably be the edensprings dispenser. Good to know that it's recommended!
It's quite simple, buy a machine that is fed tap water and then dispenses it as carbonated tap water. There are many machines available with Brita filters etc.

Drinking bottled mineral water in a country like Switzerland Is one of the worst and most avoidable eco unfriendly habits I can think of. Utterly pointless.

This is true. I've always thought that really odd, I mean that in a country like Switzerland that prides itself on being (or trying to be) really environmentally friendly the most rubbish per person than any other country in Europe is generated and the population drink masses of bottled water all the time, much of that in small bottles as well. The mind simply boggles.

Re: Sparkling water for the office

Mineral water with gas has a pH of 4-5; our body 7,356 (should). Carbonic acid is formed by carbon dioxide in the water (it is an anesthetic gas and is used e.g. used in slaughterhouses). Its soothing effect is dead certain. Sprudel is a safe relaxer. Carbon dioxide (CO2) also calms the mineral water industry, which compresses the exhaust gas into its products by the ton. Because the toxic CO2 keeps mineral water germ-free longer, so it can be stored for a long time and transported far. During transport, additional CO2 is generated. But global brands must be sold worldwide, so that the advertising costs worthwhile.

Karl Heinz Asenbaum (Germany) is very much part of what I have learnt about water etc. https://www.aquacentrum.com/app/uplo...ogen-Water.pdf

I am not a scientific soul but sometimes things need a second thought.

Sounds like it's under a similar heading to homeopathy, ley lines, and the flat earth society. Expensive woo peddled by charlatans to the gullible. I'd avoid it if I were you.

Re: Sparkling water for the office

Just stop buying water and give everyone a 5Fr water budget. They can sort it out themselves.

Stomach acid has a pH of 1.5 to 3.5

Mineral water has to go through the stomach to get to the rest of the body.

I'm pretty sure the stomach - and by extension, the rest of the body - can cope.

I prefer strudel.

Anyways, carbonated anything isn't my thing, for sure, but can imagine that people who have to work in the office like that "wake up" effect that fizzy water has, or pick-me-up minerals, too. But toxic?
