I noticed last week that the recycling-collection place in Kloten has a big bin for used Nespresso capsules.
I guess other places will have it then.
Yep, you can also take them to the Nespresso shop & hand them over. The one in Bern gives you a handful of capsules as a thankyou ... which is nice

If you like drinking expresso the cost of the capsules is not that much, especially if you compare to the cost of coffee in shops and restaurants.

Combine the nespresso with their Aeroccino milk frother which is a cross between a mug and kettle (very very easy to clean, i normally hate frothers because of the hassle cleaning) and you have a great cappuchino.
I have an aeroccino milk frother and it's great, but I have hassles cleaning it. Any hints?

Re: Nespresso Capsules

I clean mine right after it has been used rather than waiting until after the coffee etc. Take out the spinning head then just blast the jug out with hot water, wipe out with a piece of kitchen towel and it's done, blast the spinning head and the lid with the water and pop the lot onto a piece of kitchen towel to dry. It takes around 30 seconds max.

Re: Nespresso Capsules

Another Aeroccino tip - put hot water into it and run it a couple of times (with the lid on) and then let it stand and soak

Its more like a cult... I have to walk past Nespresso everyday, and its like a temple... ok, may be just an exclusive deisgner outlet, with pictures of George Clooney. I reckon some of the people going in actually get dressed up first.
A lot of a** kissing is done at the Zug shop. I have heard they address you by name when you hand over your membership card and ask you if you would like your usual order. There is even a box to tick on the membership application form if you wish to remain anonymous

For the same guaranteed taste, strength and creaminess switch to a coffee machine with pods. There are so many brands now with pods.

To all those Nespresso fans out there - PLEASE RECYCLE YOUR NESPRESSO CAPSULES

Re: Nespresso Capsules

I rather like the inconvenience of my (non-Nespresso) Espresso machine.

I can change the coffee I use whenever I want as I am not a slave to the Nespresso capsules and my coffee works out at just a few raps per cup.

It is messy though and takes a bit longer to make but then I look at this as the same as ready meals versus home-cooked food.

Re: Nespresso Capsules

Reviving an old thread...

I am a slave to Nespresso and today placed an online order. Online, it shows that orders of over 200 capsules includes free delivery (with Standard conditions). I chose the standard delivery and Bill Me option and it still showed Free Delivery on the Buy page. So I placed my order and a few minutes later I received an email confirming my order and a 15CHF charge for delivery. WTF?

Called twice for clarification and could not get an answer (5 minutes after receiving email). Anyone know what is going on here?

Tried to cancel the order during the 2nd call, and they could not do this either. They told me to refuse it when delivered. Seems like such a waste of time. I will be going by Nespresso tomorrow, so thought I could just pick it up myself and save EVERYONE some time and effort.

If your in Zurich you can go to the store on Löwenstrasse or mail order from www.nespresso.ch which tbh is the easiest thing. Order 200 capsules and your looking at free delivery as well.

Recyling the capsules is a good idea, if you check on the nespresso page they list all areas where is a recyle bin - it seems that since stopping selling the capsules in shops the recyling points have exploded - we even have one in our tiny little village in Aargau.

Re: Nespresso Capsules

Yes, we are addicted to our nespresso. Although I wish they'd bring back the flavors from last year... the caramel and ginger were yummy.

One thing I would do - when I got the order and the invoice, I'd just pay it, minus the delivery fee and then work it out with them. I've found that email is more efficent than calling, generally speaking - but it might be easier to just refuse the order...but if you're not there, don't they usually just leave it? They do for us.

Re: Nespresso Capsules

I live in a flat with a security entrance, so they can't really leave it at the door. And somehow, the CSR kept insisting that the delivery person would ask for the payment when he/she arrived. This has never happened, so no idea what they are talking about.

I am just miffed that 1) They are charging for delivery 2) They cannot explain why this is 3) They would not cancel the delivery 10 minutes after order was made when I told them I did not understand why they were charging for delivery and why they could not give a satisfactory explanation.

The conversation took place in French, so there was no language issue.

I usually buy at the downtown store without issue, but this may push me to abandon Nespresso, as my machine seems to need replacement soon.

I never order on line anymore, but when I did, I never signed for delivery. They just left the order.

My local Spar sells the capsules (I heard this is illegal) and they mark them up but I don't care as I don't have to buy them in bulk. But finally they opened a Nespresso shop in Baden and it's nice to go in and try new flavours or just have a cup of something familiar on the house. The last time I was there I received a gift. I guess we drink too much coffee.

I just received an email from Nespresso saying that the holiday flavors are available now. They change the flavors every year and only offer them for a short period, so if you have a favorite it's a good idea to buy a supply. The new flavors are apricot, chestnut cream, and gingerbread.

Did I miss something here? Forgive me but IMO coffee is best enjoyed as coffee (occaisionally enhanced with a tot of scotch).

I can't imagine what gingerbread, apricot or chestnut coffee would taste like, and I'm not going spend 5-6 chufs to find out. Yuck.

careful how you pack... I did that when i went back at xmas and once unpacked half of them where squashed (therefore unusable... ) . Plus, the difference in price with the Nespresso shop (oops, excuse me, "Nespresso Boutique") in Zurich is not that much...

We obviously use the same Spar Mr. D I noticed they sell them for Fr5.70, which is a .70r markup than ordering either online or going to the lovely boutique in Baden, cause it really is, they are all so swish in there and offer a nice cup of summit etc It's really lovely and yes, they always say thank you Gwendy... blabla.. it's great It truly is a cult.. I belong
