Any 'proper' kebabs around Basel

Is there any takeaway that does kebabs where the huge, rotating lump of meat is made up of layers of solid meat, instead of that enormous 'god knows what, but it's been through a few processes' 'meatloaf' thing ?

Try Anadolu-Grill in Grenzach-Whylen. They use good meat.

Everyone's always raving about Ayverdi's. Can't confirm, never been there.

In Basel the one that's consistently good for a number of years now is Sofra, just next to Barfi as you walk down towards Marktplatz

That’s in Zurich & it’s quite good, but the meat is still very processed. Sofra is OK...The best one I’ve had outside of Turkey is in Freiburg, get the yufka:

Re: Any 'proper' kebabs around Basel

I don't know about Basel. In Zürich I know of one proper kebab place at Neuaffoltern (right next to the Aksa oriental supermarket). There was another place right in the middle of the old town, but that has since closed down.

Anatolia just off Barfusserplatz is not bad. They make all their own flat bread, falafel, hummus etc as well. They do a good sharing platter from the grill for 2 persons.
