Buying Grill Chicken

hello all I bought grill chicken from Migros. I found there is thread/band tied to chicken legs which seems to be made of rubber/elastic thread.
When it is grilled , wont the plastic/rubber melt into the food?
Is it a normal thread or a elastic thread ?
iam not sure on that , just asking if someone noticed
