EF tradition shows that should people who actually practice the subject of a thread are banned after a long period of bashing/belittling/ridiculing. That goes for everybody; Vegans, vegetarians, homeopaths, smokers, vaccinate-refusers .... you name it, they'll be beaten.
Because the non-of the abovers know much better.
What rubbish.

You've mentioned before that you smoke and think vaccines should be a personal choice (not understanding that it can't work like that for them to be effective) and you're still here.

I believe I'm right in thinking that a couple of the smokers weren't forced to leave the forum but actually died of smoking-related diseases.
Perhaps more did, who knows?

That's an herbivore, I think.

Only people can be vegans. No?

Although somebody's dog was a vegetarian and treated to a spoonful of honey every day and she lived for 24 years.

A Vegan refrains from eating meat or any animal products. They seem to enforce a cult-like behaviour in order to try and make normal people i.e. (meateaters) feel bad.
You'd only feel bad if you secretly knew they were right, as we all do. This is why it is such a hot button topic - they are often proselytizing which grates because we know they generally have a point.

It's why many vegans are more annoying than Jehovah's witnesses for example.

After a time of being on this diet, it seems they develop or have worsened mental problems such as Alzheimers. This occurs because their brains are so nutrient deficient from no Omega-3s or Cholesterol intake.
Personally I cannot do without my bacon, eggs, bangers and black pudding.
Well good for you, and your life is your life. Life expectancy and everything , (including feeling well and enjoying life) is a personal thing, and no one else’s stuff.

Are you able to accept that I am pescatarian or will you make my life hell because of it?

Let me look for pescatarian on the dictionary first Stupid joke sorry

I think the bullied people are the ones heavily proselytizing their personal choice. As long as we don't push our decisions into others, we're cool

Happy to see that st2lemans (heavily carnivor, but still with great ideas for vegetarian recipies) even supported this sentiment. Thanks!

I have no problem with anybody's life choices, it's the preaching, as StirB says we know they are right. That doesn't mean we want to be preached at for our choices.

I‘m a vegetarian. Sadly there are overweight vegetarians - someone ate all the potatoes - but who knows a fat vegan??

Where do you meet all these people? Tell us so we could avoid them.

On a more serious note, I don't know anyone who behaves like that. Maybe some over-enthusiastic vegan vloggers? I eat meat, but that was never a problem when I met people on a vegetarian/vegan diet.

If you have to ask you obviously don't need to.

But I was asking myself the same question. While I see, read, hear people bashing vegans I've not once been preached at by a vegan. Some people tell me about their food-styles and I might find it interesting and ask what that means (ZüriRollt's thing I had to google). I don't really ask them for reasons and on goes the conversation to something else.

One summer a few years ago, all these vegan stalls popped up in the old town Winterthur. Everybody in our office started getting lunch there, tried things out, liked or disliked them. And that was it.

I can not even imagine living without cheese, curd, yoghurt or eggs. (I love meat but somehow I eat less of that lately). But it is not really of interest to me what people live off. With one exception: I easily cook for vegetarians or Moslems but with a vegan I'd rather meet in a restaurant (or have them invite me, even better) as I'm sure I would fail and if it's only one tiny ingredient I'd overlook.

Yes, exactly. Totally relate to your post. As for cooking - I tried some vegan recipes and there are some things that I like. Others - not so much. I also can't imagine a diet without eggs and cheese. Or fish. There are moments I really feel like eating meat but definitely not all the time. I always combine it with lots of vegs anyway.

Agree, there is nothing worse than listening to anyone going on about their eating habits . Same as anyone going on about any other preferences in life if I think about it.

Best to get an own life, with own goals and values, so that other peoples lives are not considered a perceived threat to your own at the end of the day.
