Steak and Kidney translation

With the likelihood of long term home office and restaurants closing it looks like Iíll be eating a lot at home.

With this in mind I would like to get some steak and kidney.

But I donít remember seeing this in supermarkets or have I missed it?

Can someone tell me what to ask for please?

Re: Steak and Kidney translation

I doubt you will find your steak `n kidney puds in CH, I looked for ages until I tried making them myself. Easy to do and you know what is in them unlike some of the mystery meat fillings you get in the UK.

Re: Steak and Kidney translation

Innereien. You get it from a butcher (Metzger) but most people here claim that it is for their dog.

It seems to be one of these weird quirks that people no longer buy offal, 20-odd yonks ago you could get heart, lung, kidney, tripe even brain at the butchers, no longer. You can get liver and in Bavaria sour lung is still a thing and on rare occasions you may find Kutteln, or tripe.

Wrong. They do. It is simply that it now called Hamburger.

We buy brains, tripe, liver, heart and goat plucks everywhere, usually Migros!

Hamburger is meat, not offal.
