That sounds like a great machine. Can you post a picture or link?
I bought mine last year on Amazon.de, but galaxus has one. I paid just about the same for mine

https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s2/product...schine-6362506

Netto shop and media mart have one from about chf 1300, but not sure what the differences are.

I had a kitchen aid stand mixer and artisan food processor, but they took up too much space. I like the Kenwood because you can fit a lot of attachments on it, including a blender and food processor, and I think it does a better job at kneading.

Which becomes more like a paella, perhaps.
Dunno, I've never tried.

Anyways, you seem to not have tried baking the risotto. Maybe you should, the result is pretty good. And if nothing else you'd at least know what you're talking about.

Re: Recipes Worth a try

Vialone is better than arborio or carnaroli if you need to stretch the cooking time (learned that in Italy from my wife's cousin).

Yup, that‘s what we use. Makes an excellent risotto.

I just googled it - looks like Globus delicatessa, schwarzenbach in niederdorf (you can order online), some other places. I think my husband likes the stuff from Hagen grote, though it is probably overpriced.

He‘s actually the rice dude - makes risotto, paella.

You might also look in jelmoli. In Winterthur, Markthalle Trivisano might have the rice as well.

I would have thought it's more like a Pilaf than a risotto if it's cooked in the oven...but I have never tried to cook it like that either, so.

As for making the rice for risotto easier to cook, I usually soak it in water and leave it over night. I'm guessing most people soak only the brown rice or the beens, I'm doing things a bit different lately.. I've tried with Arborio rice and the stirring time has been reduced quite a lot.
Btw, Arborio is the cheapest probably and quite good. Coop had/has it on sale usually and it's worth every penny. I personally wouldn't look for some rare and more expensive product.
