Buying soy products in Switzerland

My daughter has become Vegan and is looking for some soy products she can eat. The range in the local supermarkets has not impressed her.

Does anyone have recommendations for places in and around Zurich or even a day trip to France / Germany.?

Re: Buying soy products in Switzerland

the Asian supermarkets often have tofu and other soy products. I have seen soy milk and deserts and even local convenience stores. I think the Austrian recipes have often called for tofu in their ingredients and I have seen it at the EuroSpar at BerninaPlatz Oerlikon.

For Vegans, there are also "Quorn" products (you can buy them at Migros): http://www.quorn.ch/chde/cmpage.aspx?pageid=411 It's a good substitute for meat... You can try it

I have never seen a Quorn product that is suitable for vegans -- they have all contained egg.

There is a an online 100% vegan shop that I have used for the past few years that I would highly recommend at
www.larada.org

They have a good selection and excellent service...

Good luck!

Re: Buying soy products in Switzerland

Yes it is true, Quorn is NOT suitable for Vegans because it is an egg-based product.

Some vegans also don't eat honey.

Good luck with your search, my mum turned vegetarian 45 years ago when she was very young and her mother thought she did it just to really p*** her off.
