Indian chilli snack
 

Years ago one of my Indian colleagues brought over little packets of cherry sized chillies, that had somehow been cooked to make them collapse into dust as soon as you put them into your mouth. Then your head would explode.

Anyone know how to make them?

That sounds interesting. Remember any keyword? I have plenty of dry chillies and a willing oven.

It's a bit like the Belgians that make sniffable chocolate.

I think I'll have to do some experimentation. Step 1 - find some chillies that are cherry sized...

Sounds like a very hot version of that space dust stuff we used to consume as kids back in the early 70s. It all crackled in the roof of your mouth and was a bit strange.

Crunchy wasabi? Hmm.... I do like wasabi coated peas. And of course wasabi with my sushi.

These are called 'Mor Milagai'. They are chilies that have been marinated in yoghurt ( ideally a bit sour ) and then sun-dried. They are fried just prior to being served.
Google to get method of preparation. You will need to get chillies that are at least medium hot ( Aligro has some ) and you will need to oven dry them since the sun here is unlikely to be adequate.
