| | Harzer Käse where to buy
Hello does anyone knows where to buy this kind of cheese here in Switzerland ( Zürich area ), it is called Harzer käse.
Migros was selling it some years ago but now they stopped.
I am mostly interested because it is a super low-fat high protein cheese and I tried it before.

It's German, so try there.

Tom | | | | | I would like to not go to Germany just to buy some cheese since for 99% of the products I can find them here.

Great post! I share your crave for Harzer.
I have not found it here in many years, unfortunately. Also not anything that is close. Importing cheese is not something the Swiss are easy to convince of, and even many Germans would argue that this is not even cheese.
So, across the border it is.

Thanks | | | | | If you're often in Zurich city you could try Jelmoli (cheese humidor) or one of the little cheese stores, e.g. chäslaube or chäslädeli in Seefeld or chäsegge in Oerlikon (and many more). They might not have the same but could potentially recommend another sour milk cheese. I personally don't know Harzer, is it any similar to Toggenburger Bloderkäse?

This I tried and while it is a similar way to make cheese, the taste is not at all like Harzer I found. It has basically not fat and lots of protein though, so if that what motivates the OP it might be worth a try. From Zurich it is faster to go to Germany than to Rheintal though.

Try any good cheese shop in town, my neighbours Tritt Käse in the Viadukt market sometimes have it (but not today), but they can order it so I imagine any good cheese shop can too.
