Dutch oven - casserole dish

(That's "Cocotte" in French, "Schmortopf" in German.)

Does anyone here use those heavy and pricey yet widely-admired cast-iron pots? Are they Le Creuset or other brand? Where did you buy them? Are they really better than an ordinary stock pot?
