alcohol free drinks - recommendations?

Hi all,

Im extending dry January into dry February and dry March. I was wondering if anyone has good alcohol free drink recommendations and where to get them?

Unfortunately I am coeliac and cannot drink AF (alcohol free) beers. From my AF exploration I have tried the seedlip Gin AF range (number 94 is best of the three https://www.drinks.ch/de/seedlip-edi...e-94-70cl.html) I can also recommend Thomas Henry ginger beer which is quite spicey and I genuinely enjoy https://www.drinks.ch/de/thomas-henr...-4er-pack.html

There are a couple of AF gins that I cannot seem to find in switzerland ( like the gordons one).

I have no experience with AF cider (which I believe should be glutenfree) or AF wine. Anyone else explore these and might be able to share where to source them.

Re: alcohol free drinks - recommendations?

Bear milk sans the rum. Hot milk + honey. It is comforting and does not need the rum. A bit of nutmeg or cinnamon works in it, too.

Water. Alcohol free, sugar free, bubble free, preservative free, colour free and best of all it is free straight from the tap.

Re: alcohol free drinks - recommendations?

I love seedlips. It's a non alcoholic spirit. I have it with ice and tonic water. You can get it at Globus and other drinks specialists. It's not cheap, but if you feel like having a grown up drink it's great.

There are lots of other things to try too. Just have a look at the drinks sections in the supermarkets. What I don't recommend is alcohol free wine. Absolutely disgusting.... Cheers!

Oh. And there is Siegfrieds Wonderleaf, which they sell at Coop. I prefer Seedlips. The Wonderleaf tastes a little bit like bubble gum.

Re: alcohol free drinks - recommendations?

This is a decent alcoholfree redwine: https://www.flaschenpost.ch/sangre-d...E&gclsrc=aw.ds

Non Alcoholic Cider - you can try Süre Most (Basically sour apple juice)

There is also an AF Freixenet at Coop which is ok.

I find making a G&T without the G is ok from a taste perspective.

Good luck and well done!

Put some fruit in a water bottle, let it steep overnight. Tap water with a taste.

The only non-alcoholic beverages I drink is tap water and coffee, made with tap water. Sometimes when I overcome laziness, I put some carbon dioxide to tap water with the sodastream machine.

It’s not actually as exciting as it sounds. It just a hot toddy made with warm milk rather than water, it doesn’t actually come from a bear.

So simple hot milk then if you leave the rum out.

Re: alcohol free drinks - recommendations?

If you like mixed drinks, nearly all of them have an alcohol-free recipe you can find online.

I like to drink a mix of cranberry and orange juices with a splash of sparkling water and a pinch of lime.

When it comes to sparkling wine, I like Alisea Bianco Zero Alcohol (you can get it at Steinfels wine shop in Zurich). Gin - I do like Siegfried Wonderleaf (Globus or Frischeparadies will carry it). Cheers.

Re: alcohol free drinks - recommendations?

OP, you have soooo many choices!!! My former company used to organise nice Friday evening drink events once in a while and apart from beer and wine they always offered non-alcoholic beverages. I discovered Kombucha back then... You have to check the label though, in principle is gluten free but you never know. There are so many brands and flavours. Kombucha is great.

I like a lot San Pellegrino Aranciata and Limonata. Herbal iced tea. (home made)
Mocktails are delicious and there are plenty of recipes online. My fav are Virgin Margarita and Virgin Pina Colada, here there are two nice and simple recipes. Enjoy and don't forget to add to the thread something you really liked.

Re: alcohol free drinks - recommendations?

I got a gift for year-end from a colleague, that included 3 mixers (alcohol-free) which you can mix with liquor or with soda. https://mikks.ch/

I loved all 3 that came in my gift box. There was a ginger-mint mixer, a basil-lime mixer, and a citrusy Yuzu-Elder mixer. All 3 great tasting ingredients.
