How to send Swiss wine to the UK?

Just that, really. Does anybody know of any companies that I can purchase Swiss wine online and get them to send it directly to the UK? I know I could buy a bottle and send it FedEx or something, but I don't have the time or will to do that. However, would like to send a local wine to a family member for their birthday.

Re: How to send Swiss wine to the UK?

I had exactly this situation last Christmas, and I used this UK-based company:

https://www.alpinewines.co.uk

Not cheap (e.g. £42 for a bottle of Petite Arvine), and a lot of what they advertised was out of stock, but they delivered on time.

I know the lady who runs that, really good wines, but of course not cheap. The best Swiss wines aren't cheap, and the strong CHF (or weak £) makes it worse. But, certainly easier and cheaper than posting bottles from CH.

Re: How to send Swiss wine to the UK?

In case someone else comes back to this thread, the Swiss post sells cartons that are adapted to 0.7-1.0L wine bottles. A much better option that doing something home-made. I would still add some bubble wrap to fill out the carton.

The carton is the PostPac Eco 5. They are available in the Post office.

Link to show you what it looks like (don't panic, the cost shown is for 10 boxes): https://shop.post.ch/shop/en/stamps-...eco-5/p/730841

At the bottom of the page, they have a link for the Customs part of the project.
