| | The cheaper Whisky.
Denner has Whiskey (Halkins) for as low as 14chf for 70cl. Is it safe to drink the cheaper Whisky or is the difference just in the taste?

Of course it’s safe to drink in moderation just like all alcoholic drinks.
They won’t have laced it with meths or something just because it’s cheaper.
The difference will be in the taste but even then different people like different things in a whiskey so you may prefer it to one if the more expensive ones.

You mean as in "I'd rather have a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy"?
@Pauljay. Yeah, sure it's not safe. Swiss law allows major retailers to sell products that will make you go blind or dead. Try Aldi or Lidl, they have some spirits for 10 francs a bottle.
Funnily enough when it comes to blind tastings some cheaper spirits do better than the expensive ones.

If that's your thing, go for it. Can't be worse than the Ballantines or J.D. you get in most swiss bars.

| | Re: The cheaper Whisky. | Quote: | | | | | Why the groans for such a harmless question? | | | | | Think about the question "Is it safe?". Do you really believe that a major retailer would sell unsafe products deliberately? Do you really believe that you'd suffer any more harm from it than from a bottle of Glenfiddich?
So either you're being incredibly stupid or trolling - either of which will earn you a groan.
Do you understand now?

Just another nonsense post from Omstatat IMO. Just adds no value to the forum.

Some will say no alcohol is safe, and some will say smoking in the car with your young children is perfectly safe.
I think the days of unscrupulous manufacturers putting e.g. antifreeze in drinks are over. Hopefully.

At least he spelled Whisky properly | | | | | He spelt it both ways in the same post. Technically he could be correct with both of them, but I strongly suspect not.
Scotch/Canadian: whisky
Irish/American: whiskey
Non-traditional producers: I don’t care enough to double-check them, but believe it’s whisky

My local Migros sells methylated spirits. It seems to be the only alcoholic beverage they sell. Is that safe?
