Does anyone know if these are available in Switzerland, Basel specifically, or in the vicinity of Basel? |

This earlier post from t his thread may help how to make your own graham crackers (my recipe). Graham flour can be purchased in any Reformhaus...
enjoy,

... or if you can find whole grain butter cookies ("Vollkorn Butterkekse") ... Aldi carries them for example ... Coop and Migros probably, too ... their crumbs make a decent replacement.

Hi Neater,
You can get graham crackers at American Food Avenue (an online store): www.afoodave.ch. I have ordered from them several times and the service is pretty good. Hope this helps!

You can buy "Petit Beurre" biscuits in France that resemble GC's (kindof). For cheesecakes use "sablés" (watch out, they are very buttery).

You can also give Fenwick's Feinkost a shot, they might have them. They're located just down the street from the Spalentor.

Neater | | | | | Sorry, but I stick exclusively to the metric system...Here's one of many sites you can use to do conversions: grams in a cup. Another tip...If you use google, then just type in grams to (pick something like ounces, ml, lbs, etc.), and you will easily find all of your conversions...

Neater | | | | | Google to the rescue: http://www.google.ch/search?source=i...le+Search&meta= 150 grams = 5.29109429 ounces
... and of course Jack beat me to it ... |

Does anyone know where to buy graham crackers or crumbs? I read somewhere you can bake them using graham flour (never seen this here either!) I would love to make some Nanaimo bars...yum.

Thanks for the info. I guess everyone's trying to make a buck (or franc) but 15 plus shipping is a little insane for a box of crackers. (A nice box of Sprungli champagner truffes perhaps, but crackers!?!) Would anyone have an idea of a substitute for graham crackers or know where graham flour can be found? I'm not giving up yet! Thanks

You can find Graham flour in a Reformhaus. As for a substitute for crackers digestive biscuits might work.

Use the search function up above and you'll find some info. I'm certain this has been discussed before (where to buy and what alternatives are available)
EDIT: Found this for you.

Not sure if these would do the trick, but have you tried Digestive Biscuits?
I know they are sold in Coop and Jelmoli and they make a superb base for cheesecake (with melted butter and honey added)
