A happy ending!

A box full of Jacob's Cream Crackers arrived today from Britshop.

To balance my comment upthread, perhaps my original mail had gone astray because when I wrote to them a second time, they replied immediately.

Quite impressed with this shop, will order more in the future.

I am now a happy bunny.
Britshop is really very good. I am glad you found your crackers in the end. I bought my last lot from DeinDeal which sometimes has British food. I keep my eye on it for HP sauce for my husband and managed to buy both his sauce and my crackers in one order recently. Think I may treat myself to a couple with a bit of cheddar.

No idea about these Jacob Cream Crackers so maybe you have tried them. But do you know the italian ones you can get at both coop and Migros? They look fairly similar to me. Didn't check the ingrediants but they have a classic version. We buy them often.

There is also the Ritz ones. They show them as well on that page

Those Gran Pavesi Cracker Sfoglie Classic Pavesi are not available at the moment (says so on your link ) and the Ritz are very salty, while I remember Jacob's Cream Crackers not to be.

edit: The input reminded me, I have bought them in Migros and yup, if you buy two packs you get them 50 cents cheaper even just now

They also got them in standard shape. I usually get the red ones as I'm into salty stuff. I don't know what exactly "less salt" on the light blue ones will mean. Worth a try though? (Same 50 cent stunt at the moment).

Neither of them are a substitute for cream crackers. The Gran Pavesi isn’t bad but it definitely isn’t a cream cracker and the Ritz bears no resemblance whatsoever to cream cracker and as you say is very salty.

I think irishtemptation might be referring to these;

Don't think I've ever them in my Coop (Geneva) but then admittedly I've not looked that hard as I can easily buy the real thing (Jacobs) in France.

They linked to the Gran Pavesi ones and specifically said the Italian ones so I don’t think they meant those.

Re: Jacob's Cream Crackers or water biscuits?

I think I've seen Jacob's Cream Crackers sold in the huge Coop in Volketswil before. They have a small British foods section, but I'm not sure if that's the section I had seen them in. (<<< sorry if someone's already mentioned that here).

And I thought I was the short-sighted one....... how did they manage to miss the cream crackers listed on the same page?!
Agree with you, Gran Pavesi and Ritz are nothing like Jacobs.
