| | Bacon butties in ZH
My limited experience of shopping for food in Zurich leads me to believe that I'm (again) moving to a bacon desert. True?
How much can one bring in across the border, assuming there is a limit (I vaguely remember reading something about it here)?

A bit slow tonight, friends have used it but not me.
I'm not associated with it.
IIRC, it's a 500g per person over the border.

Despite not being able to get thick cut organic Wiltshire bacon, you can get Canadian style smoked streaky bacon in Coop.

My solution to the lack of back bacon thus far has been to pick up a chunk of "Rippli" in Coop, slice that as you like it and voila. Looks like bacon, tastes like bacon, I reckon you can call it bacon |

I'v heard it said that Migro offer 'English Bacon' on their home delivery website... or perhaps its the co-op. Thats another price we have to pay for living in CH. No decent 'Greasy spoons'.

Oo! www.le-shop.ch via Migros. And the whole thing is in English, too. "British bacon (made in Switzerland )" |

Don't forget we need the HP Sauce as well - just to give it that British taste - as most of the Bacon in UK is Danish !!

if you order from this "over the rainbow" how do they deliver and how long do deliveries usually take ( I'm having visions of week old sausages in the post )

I've never had a problem with their products, service or delivery.... Packaging - Shipping Packaging
Our current method of packaging goods is as follows :-
Frozen product(s) are wrapped in insulating material and packed securely into the appropriately sized Swiss Post 'YellowBox'. Shipping Currently ALL orders are shipped using die Swiss Post PostPac Prio(rity) packet delivery service. We dispatch 4 days in the week - Monday to Thursday with your goods being delivered the day after dispatch. In your 'Status changed to "Completed"' e-mail, you will find the Swiss Post shipping reference number.

Anyway, having been out of the UK for over six years I've forgotten what decent bacon tastes like, so I guess even the stuff that tastes like "pants" will be heaven.
