I think I've got some rice noodles somewhere at the back of the pantry. I might well try this tomorrow...

Now I just have to locate the cone amongst the old fish heads, dead skunks and canine anal glands at the bottom of my kitchen bin. I'm pretty sure that locating it by its distinctive aroma really shouldn't be a problem...
That's me practical feller.
Err where dous though buy thee fish?

only if you describe what is tastes like...and be honest (for once )
It tastes like extract of cow.

But not in a nice way, like Bovril.

More in a diabolical, goes-against-everything-that-nature-intended, only-the-people-of-glarus-could-think-of-something-as-heathen-and-wrong-as-this, we-burn-witches-you-know kind of way.

It's just wrong. And it tastes wrong.

Doggy-soggy biscuits merely rate a 7 on the scale of wrongness that puts Schabziger somewhere near a million.

Very funny for us that know Cannock - others may be confused. Just let´s say it is not all true.
Surprised there is no mention of dogging re the Chase . I understand it is now the world capital of dogging.
Still getting off-topic here so I´ll stop otherwise the thought police will be after me.....

As Jeremy Clarkson said, "Cannock would be the worst town in the world if it wasn't for Burton on Trent"

If you want to know more about Dougal's roots you have to read this. It explains a lot:

The taste of home....if you live in Glarus. Mind you that only amounts to some 5,000 souls.

Re: Schabziger Cow Extract

I've been trawling the deepest depths of my more malodorous and traumatic memories (oh Lord, the milk bottle... the milk bottle! ...the tinned tripe! ...the brain soup! ... that kiss!), and have finally found something that would seem to come pretty close to describing what Schabziger tastes like:

On Wikiyouknowwhat, it says the herb in question is "blue fenugreek".

I think I may have found the first Greek thing that DB doesn't like......

But that's the aroma of the farming countryside, DB.

I was introduced to it on my honeymoon driving down the Romantic Road or thereabouts in Germany. Aphrodisiacal, not! (That explains why there are no Argusettes pitter-pattering around.)

Is the same true of Schabziger? Can Schabziger spoil? Alas, concentrated extract of cow is off the menu for me...
