Chocolate truffles, millions of chocolate truffles

I knew that would get your attention!

Here's the thing: I need to get about 3/400 chocolate truffles for a wedding in England. I want to get decent quality and a decent price.

Läderach do 36 pieces for approx CHF 50. So it would be CHF 500 for the amount I want

Anyone know where I can better this? I'm guessing the Lindt factory, but has anyone actually been there and seen them? The factory shops are open at not great times (ie during my work hours, like um, now).

So pitch in and let me know. I'm looking for lots of truffles and a good price. Thanks will be given here!

Or ask the Truffe people.

I think you would be better off to order in the UK. You should get a better price and avoid all the transport problems.

... or go and see the boss in a chocolate shop and ask him if he could prepare this for you and negotiate a decent price with him.

My friend got a huge amount at a discounted price from the Sprüngli factory for her wedding. Try there.

Re: Chocolate truffles, millions of chocolate truffles

I have purchased from the Altendorf Lindt factory and never been disappointed with quality and price. Okay so they are not handmade like the ones you buy in a backerie/confisserie.

You can either buy boxed truffles (just like in the shops) for 10-30% cheaper than in the shops.

Or they also do mixed bags. Essentially they tip a box of truffles in a clear plastic bag and sell it for 4CHF - it is a 300gm bag (I think) with at least over 20 truffles in the bag. There is nothing wrong with them just not packaged nicely.

So I guess it depends how you want to present the truffles at the wedding. If you are going to boxthem individually anyway then for the price I think the mixed bags are terrific value.

If you are interested PM me and I can go and buy them for you.

Aeschbach -- bought about 12 truffles for CHF13. Tasty! But not as swoon-inducing as Sprungli. Aeschbach has a factory in Cham near Steinhausen and a retail outlet in Zugerland.

Re: Chocolate truffles, millions of chocolate truffles

So i'm just back from the Lindt factory.

20 bags of truffles with 20 truffles in each bag. 300g per bag. Cost per bag CHF 5.90. Total cost CHF 118. Compared to the original price of around CHF 500 I am

Also picked up a 300g bag of mixed pralines for CHF 3.90. Am enjoying them right now!
