Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland 1 Attachment(s) Hello. It is not a big deal mayby, but I like Boletus edulis mushrooms very much. I ve decided to make a soup today (mushrooms + potatoes + carrots + a little bit of bunch of mixed vegetables + a piece of meat + parsley (dried top leaves) + pinch of spices + cream). We have to soak mushrooms before boiling. I've made about 3 litres of this soup and I wanted to leave a half for tommorow. No way, I ve eaten all today :( |

Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland A tutorial of sorts; Crispy Chicken in Orange and Black Bean Sauce. Cube chicken to bit size pieces and place in a slurry of 1 part flour, 1 part corn start, and enough soy sauce to make a thick batter. Place chicken in slurry and and let is stand five minutes or so. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...309_201940.jpg Place chicken in hot oil and soft fry...Do this in small batches till all of the chicken is soft fried (this is to fix the batter to the chicken and prevent sticking). http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...309_203115.jpg Once the chicken is soft fried...place all of the chicken back into the oil and then deep fry. Its ok to taste test as you go. 5-10 minutes fry time. If it looks like the picture below: its ready! http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...309_204222.jpg While all of that awesome chicken frying action is happening, it is hoped that you were busy chopping bell peppers, yellow onions and welsh onions. If you did manage to chop and stir fry that...it would be a good time to make the sauce: mix wine, orange juice, lime concentrate, a bit of water, soy sauce, black bean paste, sugar and two spoons of corn starch to the COLD mix. Place on high heat and boil...it will thicken in a few minutes. Once thick, add black pepper and red pepper flakes. When that is done...toss the sauce into the stir fry, give it a quick stir and then throw the chicken in and toss once. Voila...a #3 lunch special. Sorry...no egg rolls. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l1...309_204835.jpg |

Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland 2 Attachment(s) Its been a while since I posted here - but a shoulder injury kept me at home this weekend and I took the time to bake a little pick-me-up and my lovely fiancee took pictures with his professional camera  Pistachio-Lemon cake; which I eat with a dollop of Crème fraîche! (I drooled my way through the thread again - one of these days we should really all get together, cook and then proceed to stuff ourselves silly!) |

Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland 3 Attachment(s) Around Valentine's I saw an online recipe for Hidden Heart but went a bit crazy with other shapes. I obsessively sliced open the cake just to see all the shapes hidden inside. My other half's Valentine turned out to be nutty as a fruitcake. :D You can find the hidden heart cake recipe on GoodFood BBC. The other dishes are Raisin n Cashew Nut Turmeric Rice and Rendang Lamb. |
