Oh dear... the ball is in my court now

Not sure about Biryani, but I can make damn good curry (by chance sometimes) with boiled rice!

Get time and venue and Dr Derv shall be delighted to show his prowess with Culinery skills

Or maybe not, havent done that in months

Why does 'ball curry' stick in my mind?
Why, because I was reading stuff from Derv, of course.

OK, anyone out there willing to host a potluck?
With any luck, Derv will show up with a nice pot of his doctored curry.

Ok Guys, posting picttures is not good enough in this instance.
We need someone to taste and then score what you bake/cook. I mean I can volunteer to do that, so everytime you cook, you can invite me over for the Tasting
Some of the dishes look Exceedingly good!!!
You guys are amazing, all the pictures are so nice and look like from professional cooks. I take my hat off to you all. Now, let's talk about the tasting contest, I can volunteer too

If you have a packet of glutinous rice, here are a savoury and a sweet suggestion.

Steamed glutinous rice (you may sub 'dried prawns' with cubes of chicken meat):
http://kuali.com/recipes/viewrecipe.asp?r=3286
If you don't care to steam stuff, you can first fry the presoaked raw rice in a bit of oil, then add a bit of water (or stew sauce combination) to achieve your desired consistency or 'al dente'ness. Cooked covered on low heat for about 15 minutes till done.

This is Sticky Mango Rice dessert - you may omit the screwpine leaves and grated coconut:
http://kuali.com/recipes/viewrecipe.asp?r=2934
  1. Thank you for those, not sure sure if I am game to try such things (as in the savoury recipe). I just thought the balls looked like something I should eat once in my life
  2. It appears that I have lead a deprived life, as I can't say what my desired consistency might be,,, I've never had it before you see
  3. And three, I have no idea why those numbers are showing up!? I can't even delete them, oh brother!!

Now, if I can workout how to add a photo or two, I'll show you a few of my latest creations!!

Not the greatest photos but they are either vanilla or chocolate cakes, with raspberry or vanilla buttercream filling and fondant decorations.

Those are very pretty! The children who got them were lucky indeed.

That looks truly appetizing - is it noodles with Swiss chard and something else?

noodles; yes, but furthermore a very basic italian Ragu with a large load of parsley and celery (as it isn't going to be used in the coming days, and i LOVE it when it is fresh) and then of course freshly grated parmegiano

Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland

Ok, so i said that i would join this thread. then let's see how long/far i can continue this. as it hopefully will push me as well to try new things and extend the range food photography with a stupid limited compact camera(let's try to squeeze as much as possible out of it).

for now two more dinners to add.
- A nice couscous steeped in chicken broth with harissa and at the last moment mixed with pomegranate seeds, coriander and lemon zest and juice, and of course two merquez sausages
- creamy leek with noodles and pork filet slices

Dark, sensuous chocolate cake, with mascarpone/cream and blackberry jam filling - I'm sure you'd be tempted... (I can always make another one )

Here's the link to that recipe (in German); I'll put a translation on the blog if requested.
I'd love to get this recipe in English if you have time - sounds fantastic

Irish cream truffle fudge (deliciously addictive! Ask me if you want the recipe) and two kinds of Quark cake (the first one looks a bit rude, heh):

I realize I'm technically disqualified, as this wasn't baked in CH, but here's a Zopf I made last night (before it went under the knife):
