Can i be your friend?

Question: What would you recommend for roast pepper fillings? Im thinking rice with mushrooms and onions but im sure you will have some great ideas to make it more interesting. Pine seeds maybe?
How about little cubes of aubergine mixed with salted preserved soy beans and some chili flakes?

Or little florets of cauliflower, coriander leaves and couscous?

Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland

Does amyone have the recipe for a vegetarian dish that an old friend of mine used to make? I believe it was an Iranian recipe.

It consisted of cous cous mixed with other things but you cook it in a dish lined with sliced potato. When it is cooked you turn the dish over upside down like a Tarte tatin and the wonderful mixture ends up with a covering of roasted sliced potatoes on top - it was really yummy

Any ideas?

I know one like that but it is with potato, rice and saffron.

ETA: After doing a quick search it looks like the dish might be called Tahdig or Tahdeeg.

Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland

Home made focaccia:zucchini (zucchetti in Switzerland, I'm Italian and I don't know why they use another slightly different word) and onions.
It's vegan by the way.

We made focaccia today too! I won't show you the picture as yours looks much better. And probably tastes better. Mine didn't quite rise. It was very flat. Do you have a recipe you want to share?

Mine was vegan as well, just not oil free.

While they dream of meat on the meat thread

I produced this hearty delight Black bean Dal with savory wild brown Rice

Used a little Curcuma in the boiling water to change the rice color to yellow

Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland

Feck me, is this thread turning into another vegan fest?

No.

Two Lobster Biryani, and seeing as the misses doesn't eat sea food, it was all for me!

Rice, onions, a little curry paste, loads of ginger and cardamom and a few florets of broccoli. And two lobsters. It was delicious..... and it wasn't vegan!

It was more or less this:
http://www.finecooking.com/recipes/basic-focaccia.aspx
We have one of the author's book on iPad.
Have fun!

Edit: we were actually trying to make a focaccia di Recco, which didn't turn out
to be, but it was the best focaccia we made at home

Re: Post photos of what you cook and bake in Switzerland

We made these practically flourless Lebkuchen cookies (main ingredient is ground almond and ground hazelnut) last year and are going to bake them again this weekend.

I have followed this recipe and it works! Except that my kitchen smelled of Siu Yoke for two days.

Good luck.
