They cut off all the pork fat. You probably have to make a special request to a butcher.

This thread is AMAZING!

Don't think I normally take photos, I guess now I will just have to go off and bake/cook things. Now I'm pregnant again I find myself baking at strange hours and then don't know what to do with it all.

I think I might have to start with some of that irish cream truffle fudge...

You can get pork belly from certain Migros stores and butchers (make a request if not readily available).*

*to make your own.

I've just bought some philly today for my carrot cake icing. It's on offer at the moment at Denner. 2 x 200g cartons for Fr 4.25.

i agree, i use about four philly containers too, but, it's worth it and keeps me from making it all the time.

actually, just made a really good carrot cake with cream cheese icing the other day, so it looks like i'll have to keep to baking when philly is on sale :(

but let me know how the quark works out if you try it, i'm doubtful but curious...:)

Chinese New Year celebrations typically last 2 weeks, and end on the 15th day of the lunar new year. AKA Lantern festival. AKA night of the first full moon. further clarification.

Gotta go shopping and get to cookin'!

That is one hell of a small portion. It would just tickle my food pipe and not even reach my stomach.

I like making birthday cakes for my kids. If anyone wants a few ideas, here are a few I've made the past few years.

This will challenge me to come up with something creative for the Big Kid's birthday beginning of June. Aardvaark? Skunk? Binturong?
