| | English Breakfast in Zurich?
Hi
New to Zurich, this is my 3rd week.
Is there anywhere you can get a good old traditional English Breakfast? Proper Bacon, Black Pudding etc.
Thanks
Dave

3 weeks and already craving the tastes of home. Some places do brunch on Sundays (search sunday brunch) but you'll not really find a place that does this food daily for breakfast. Go Swiss seeing as you are living here
Get in touch with this guy and make your own MacVicars Bacon & Sausages

I don't really think so or I would have found it by now. It's not exactly easy to get the ingredients to do a fry up at home

Though not in Zurich, we went to the Big British Breakfast yesterday a.m. at Penny Farthing's in Kriens. Sausage, pudding, eggs, beans, rashers, etc. I believe the owner said they do it once a month with the next one happening in January. Keep your eyes peeled for an advert between now and then.
In the meantime, if you find any sausage, rashers and pudding here, I'm sure you'll make many, many friends with such valuable information .

Aldi do some sausages which i would say are the closest to english bangers, bacon from Colin or Migros online shop - Le Shop, beans from coop or lidl, everything else from anywhere
Or you could just go native and take the easier option and have a gipfili

Dave | | | | | Try the Mövenpick LeMarché in the Soussol of Zürich HB. They have bacon and eggs (scrambled, boiled, fried) and much else, even if for sure not everything you desire.

Dunno if you want to have a look at a pub but anyway there's a pub called Oliver Twist in Niederdorf (not far from Zurich HB). They serve very traditional English/Irish foods and could probably serve your needs. http://www.pickwick.ch/ | This user would like to thank Xamarth for this useful post: | |

You can get a gipfli burger at the Happy Bakery in Langstrasse.
Quite delicious on very rare occasions.

Thanks a lot for the tips. I'll have to try some of those bacon and sausages.

At Paddy Reilly's we serve full breakfast at the weekends (13.00 - 21.00), and if not too busy, on request in the evening during the week - The kitchen is just too busy Monday to Friday during the lunchtime to offer it.
We now finally have proper English bangers, and thick bacon like you'd be used to. Toast, spuds, mushrooms, fried eggs, tomato and beans - only thing missing is the black/white pudding.
We do full Sunday lunch on Sunday as well. main dish only or 3 course - come early though, sells out pretty sharpish!

I would heartily recommend the Sunday breakfasts at Bubbles, just behind Stauffacher. They have more or less the full english (eggs, bacon, beans, sausage, fried tomato...no black pudding though).
The food is tasty and the waitresses even more so |
