I noticed it when I arrived because I was getting electric shocks off of everything. I still have shirts I can't wear because of it!

I'm forever *shocking* myself after my hair dries. Plus, it's flat as a frikkin pancake no matter what I try to do to it.
I gave up trying, now it's ponytail city everyday.

The tap water here tastes lovely, but definately a filter jug is needed when making tea otherwise its a gritty surprse at the bottom of the mug. |

I love the tap water here. That being said, I come from a place in Canada where the water is borderline brown and tastes like ass...so...I guess anything would taste better.

All you tea lovers please note: de-scale your kettle. The water is great for tea (in Zurich, at least).
Hmm, while on the subject of tea, it's almost tea time |

We're very lucky, our tap water comes straight off the mountain and it's great for tea, Taylors Yorkshire Gold in particular!

Love it, love it, love it, love it. Where I live in Zurich the water is fantastic. You never ever have to hand dry your dishes so as not to get unsightly water spots. Great for drinking, great for showering, great for everything. Reminds me of the water back home in Oregon. I also love the way Zurich has water fountains everywhere with the water coming out tasting pristine.
Ladies with the hair complaints, I'm curious where in Zurich you live. I love my hair here and it's curly curly and has always been dry. I just came back from the states where the lady whose been cutting my hair since I was 12 said my hair is the healthiest she's ever seen. What I do, only wash it every 2-3 days. Also, I don't think the water is hard where I live but I've heard it varies area to area. | Quote: | | | | | I'm forever *shocking* myself after my hair dries. Because the moderators might feel that talking about a water purification system that I am promoting on my website may not be appropriate on this forum.
When I had an apartment in Geneva I brought my water ionizer along and attached it the sink. Now, as I'm staying in hotels, I just drink the tap and bottled water they have here.
Next week I'll bring my pH meter to measure its pH, but I reckon that Swiss water, coming as it does from the Alps, is amongst the best drinking waters in the world - assuming they don't add stuff like chlorine and fluoride to it.
But, if you want the best water that technology can make, get yourself a Water Ionizer.

My water in Liechtenstein is pure nectar from heaven above. And as Jemma said, crisp and cold as if fresh snow just melted inside the glass. |

If it's better than the stuff we had in Glasgow, then fine by me! When we moved into our flat there, I ran the tap for an hour thinking something had died in the tank, but that's just how it tasted.

We wish !
In the Big Rock Candy Mountains you never change your socks
And the little streams of alcohol come a-trickling down the rocks
The brakemen have to tip their hats and the railroad bulls are blind
There's a lake of stew and of whiskey too.You can paddle all around 'em in a big canoe - In the Big Rock Candy Mountains

Hmm, while on the subject of tea, it's almost tea time | | | | | Good cup of fine Tea is great. Tap water is fine unless it's overboiled.
Don't add milk - don't kill precious flavonoids with caseins.

| | Re: Swiss Tap Water | Quote: | | | | | Am I just overly biased in favour of all things Swiss these days...or is Swiss tap water really what they call nectar in heaven?
I just find myself drinking gallons of the stuff lately...saving a fortune on beer and Rivella | | | | | Water here's alright. Doesn't hold a candle to the Hawaiian Sweet Tap water however.

| | Re: Swiss Tap Water | Quote: | | | | | One criticism i would make of Swiss Tap Water....you can't make a decent cup of tea with it. Then again, that's my experience everywhere outside the UK and Ireland (and all hotels in the UK ).
But perhaps I should force myself to be drinking tea out here rather than the water having come across this old article..... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/5281046.stm Tea 'healthier' drink than water The researchers recommend people consume three to four cups a day Drinking three or more cups of tea a day is as good for you as drinking plenty of water and may even have extra health benefits, say researchers. The work in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition dispels the common belief that tea dehydrates. Tea not only rehydrates as well as water does, but it can also protect against heart disease and some cancers, UK nutritionists found. | | | | | Tim, that's a perfect avatar icon you've got for a post on the 'mind-altering substance known as tea'. ;-)
