Mr husband is quite keen on "Les Trois Dames" which is brewed in Ste-Croix. I believe it is quite strong
These guys make awesome beer. They have quite a range of beers that are brewed all the time, plus seasonal beers, plus whatever new beer the brewmeister feels like trying out.

They are available at over 100 shops and restaurants across Switzerland- here's a list on their website.

I remember I bough the "grande chouffe" corked bottles here before, but it might have been at Carrefour (RIP).

cool.

Have you noticed that some of the glasses have the name spelt in mirror image. Others have the name mis-spelt. I first observed this after having drunk a number but I came back to verify when sober and it really is the case.

Why is it that a tag on this thread is "making love on a canoe"?

Is someone smoking crack back there?

Thankfully the Swiss Supreme Court forbids Anheuser-Busch from using the name Budweiser or even Bud in this country, ruling in favor of the delicious Czech real-deal .

It looks like your long quest could be over. That is a very decent price as well - cheaper than UK pub price.

I think, your chance to find such a place is near 0.00 . You ought to join forces with some pub-owner and import the stuff. And try to distribute to other pubs. And by this I do not mean Ct Zch alone, but also areas like Rapperswil, Lachen-Pfäffikon or Spreitenbach-Baden. If the stuff is as good as you think it should not only be a success with some U.K.-expats but also with interested natives.

I personally like the Efes Beer from Turkey, not sensational but refreshing and tasting nicely

In terms of Belgian beers, some that I'd recommend are

- La Chouffe
- Chimay
- Kwak

In terms of places to drink them, I recommend Old Gregory's on Langstrasse. They have more than a hundred beers in stock. The manager is a guy from Ticino and he is extremely knowledgeable on beers and more than happy to advise so if you tell him what you like he's pretty good at advising other stuff you might like. He has beers from all over the world and is a walking beer encyclopedia.

Best thing is to come in on a weekday when there aren't many people around so he has time to talk to you about his beers.
If God drinks beer, let's hope the elixir of life was introduced to him by a Belgian Trappist Monk.....
