Laugenbrot - recipe?

Can anyone recommend a good recipe for laugenbrot? I've found a couple online but thought you guys could be more helpful.

Also, if you bake this at home - do you use baking soda or lye, or what? Is using baking soda considered "cheating"?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks
