Why don't you actually wait until you have actually moved to Basel, then simply ask for them in a health food store? I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve by using an internet forum to ask about the availability of a fairly common item...

I have asked at over 10 health food stores in Basel and DE. None know what I am talking about. I am not asking for bread yeast.
Is rudeness part of your deal or what?

There is a fairly new shop in Weil am Rhein, Germany near the Kaufring grocery/miscellaneous store that is a "large" grocery-style shop for health foods. I'm sorry, I don't know the name, but it is right next door to the Kaufring. They might have it.

It may also go under another name here, have you tried www.leo.org ?

Yep - it's part of the deal. I see you've now updated your profile so it looks less like you are not even in the country. Mentioning that you've already asked in health food stores in your original post is also a good idea - makes you look less like you are fishing for info without putting in any effort yourself. But glad you've clarified those points now and I wish you the best in searching for yeast.

I have seen it at Migros, near the vitamin section. It comes in a tetrapak type packaging. Note you should try the biggest Migros you can find, just in case.
