Sausage or Bacon...poll

As CarlosR suggested, a poll.

Your choice is your favourite sausage from anywhere in the world, cooked perfectly. Or, your favourite bacon, again from anywhere, cut and cooked to your liking.

Re: Sausage or Bacon...poll

In general, bacon is my thing... any that doesn't get eaten at breakfast can be used for BLT sandwiches later or crumbled into potato salad (or both).

The "exception" is if I'm having a Biscuits & Gravy breakfast like this:

They're a bit like an unsweetened scone. This thread isn't really for English food per se, but that plate does look a mess...wouldn't touch it!

You're worse than that economisto, you are!

Q: "Sausage or bacon?"

A: "Biscuits and gravy."

I can't choose, and I think it's downright nasty of you to put me in the position where for a second I thought I had to choose. I panicked and almost clicked one . You should have added a third option for those who can't live without either of them.

RD, stare long and hard into the photo I posted, and then go with your stomach. I feel you'll make the right choice in the end. Oh and just in case, here's another:

In the US, "biscuits" generally are a sort of non-loaf bread, similar to a dinner roll but without the yeast.

Having never had scones, I can not comment on the validity of Economisto's comparison. So far as the rest of what he says...

Yes, the plate IS a mess but oooooh sooooo tasty!

The other time I might go with sausage over bacon is in the case of a pancake breakfast but usually I'll go half-and-half and have some of each as they BOTH are quite delicious dipped in maple syrup.

@PegA, what is the white lumpy stuff?

p.s for reference I had my biscuits in popeyes and iHop.

@littlejim - that bacon looks epic, the rest, not so much.

Sausage. So much diversity and variety.

the other has its whole internet-meme thing to overcome.

Holy crap though... International Bacon Day is in 2 days... Not enough time to get any decent stuff imported.

Sausage gravy. I wouldn't touch it in most restaurants, but homemade...
