Indian grocery shop in Lausanne?

Hi,

Does anybody know where I can find a nice Indian grocery shop with a good choice of food in Lausanne?

Thanks!

Re: Indian grocery shop in Lausanne?

Hi there is two shops at back of the train station.... at rue de Simplon.... (turn left when you come down from the station far left exit facing Ouchy) Otherwise I think there is also one somewhere in Rue Valentin...

Hope the directions are not tooo confusing...

Re: Indian grocery shop in Lausanne?

There is one on Avenue de France at the bottom (coming out of Place Chauderon). 15 meters up on the right. Quite a good selection.

There is a second one on Rue Maupas (about 150 meters up the street on the right). Rue Maupas is about five minutes walk from the first place.

Hmm... There are quite a few things which I do not find at Migros or Coop...
Frozen parathas, papadams, pickle, a good amount of coriander or mint (not the 3 leaves they sell you for an awful lot of money at Coop), Indian beans, bindhi, spices, mango juice, upma, haldiram snacks, chai masala, all the differents kinds of dal, chapati flour... Do u know of any swiss shops that sell these things???

Thanks for the replies!

Wow,you like all these too..............I was just wondering what you may look for at Indian grocery outlet........I got it now !!!!

Frozen Parathas-its an all flour preparation, fried in butter and oil.
Papadams-we call it Papad, can be oil fried or simply fried to eat.
Pickle-we call it achar
Coriandar-we call it dhania, both seeds and leaves are used in food preparations.
Mint-we call it Pudina
Bindhi or Bhindi-is it ladies finger(vegetable) that you are implying ???
Dal-Pulses,moong,musoori,aarhar,there are many types of it
Chapati-a wheat preparation
Chai Masala-Chai means Tea and Masala means Spices, how do you prepare it ??

I admit,no Swiss shops would sell these, but I had no knowledge that Swiss people also have a taste for Indian delicacies........thats awesome !!!!
