Chicken curry? From Ooty?

My best friend from secondary school came from Ooty.
Often I went for dinner at her house (i had a thing for her brother, but thats a different story )
And they would often make a chicken "curry" which involved a lot of water, whole pieces of chicken that i think were boiled, and vegetable bits (potato, carrots) in this "soup" too. All in one pot.
Does anyone have any idea what it might have been? And how i can recreate it?
We had papadum with it.

Re: Chicken curry? From Ooty?

I come from Coimbatore and I know the curry you are talking about.

I have already made a note for myself to ask someone back home about the recipe. I will update as soon as I have some news.

Re: Chicken curry? From Ooty?

I have a jar of sri lankan curry mix that is similar... I know the chicken curry too - was in Coimbatore in 2006...south Indian curry tends to have more coriander and bay leaf, I think...and no cream or milk...
