| | FIFA World Cup 2018 Announcement
Hi,
Any insiders know Where FIFA will announce the 2018 WC winning bid result?
I assume it will be at FIFA HQ on the hill, sorry Züriberg , but I can't find anything to prove or disprove that.
Aside: I'm no massive England fan, it's Man United 1st, 2nd and 3rd for me, BUT I would really really really like to see a World Cup in England. The last one in 1966, well I was around for but let's just say I wasn't toilet trained at the time. 52 years is long enough.
Right?

Expect a fair amount of security over the next few days. The England delegation includes Prince William, David Cameron, David Beckham, Alan Shearer, Sir Bobby Charlton, Gary Lineker, Andy Cole and John Barnes.
I guess that other countries will be bringing out their equivalents. Full delegation list |

When the Swiss MP looked at the figures and said "The amounts of money are astounding", you could see behind his eyes that he was thinking "What's the problem? It's only $200,000. My cleaner earns more than this!!"

I am Dutch and would love to have a WC in Holland but NOT with these ridiculous demands from the FIFA.
Good luck England or Russia

I've been working on the set up since last week - it's a f'ing monster - basically it's taking up all 8 halls for the world's media & all the bidding entourages etc, with a stage for the announcements that a stadium rock band would be happy with!
Guess FIFA have to spend their dirty loot somehow.

7 hours later and having watched Jack Warner (FIFA delegate) calling an elderly BBC journalist "a piece of s**t" on Panorama for asking him about the tickets he sold on the black market, I think David Mellor is correct, I paraphrase: "Any other organisation would investigate such (bribery) claims seriously...isn't it time that Governments investigate FIFA?"
I told a bloke at work earlier "that Blatter has got to be the most dodgy Swiss I've ever seen". He laughed knowingly.
Right now, I have a feeling Russia will get 2018 and Qatar 2022.
Only 65 hours to wait...

Warners quote of "I'd spit on you but I don't want to dignify my spit" might also send a subtle signal that England may not get the nod....what do you think?
There is something a bit self - destructive about the timing of the BBC show though....surely next week would have done

As things stands now it would seem a done deal for Russia, since England is involved I wonder how impartial the BBC investigation really is....

The Channel 4 news item highlighted concerns over corruption, match fixing, racism in Russian football and the dilapidated infrastructure..... http://www.channel4.com/news/russias...orld-cup-glory
...but the web article does say Russia are still favourites.

Maybe it's time a few big nations stood up against FIFA.
Either you're against corruption or you're not.
If it goes to Russia for 2018, I won't be going. Due to my safety as a non-white person.
If it goes to England, I would still have to question supporting the on-going farce that is FIFA.

I really dont know how FIFA have got away with it for so long. i think that if england dont get it there could be an enquiry anyway. the swiss are getting a bit fed up with FIFA and their antics. They not a federation, more like a mafia.

So the IOC is now going to investigate one of the FIFA guys.
Just when you thought it couldn't get more absurd.
