Choking - to me - implies that one is a good team but fails on the big stage... if only the England ODI team were that good...
Implying we can't choke as we're not expected to be good enough anyway?

Well nobody expects them to win anyway... so what's the worst that can happen? Who knows... maybe they can beat Sri Lanka and face Pakistan in the finals (of course we are going to beat India )

and then maybe we can see another 92 wc?

Indeed, however, given the way "underdogs" like Pakistan and NZ got through, maybe there's hope for England...

A close thing - just lost by the ten wickets, then

Not entirely surprised. We were living on the edge the entire tournament. Oh well, get the boys back home, they need a bloody rest.

Re: Cricket WC: Ireland beats England

Looked like we needed a bit more of the old colonial spirit in that heat. Can`t for the life of me understand why they werent handing out the G&Ts at tea time! Probably would have the turned the game around completely.

See what I mean... England were that bad, it wasn't even a question of choking. Oh for the chance to choke...
