Re: (Cricket World Cup) India-Pakistan [and other matches]
I must say that I actually watched parts of it - I really could not sleep yesterday and after midnight they had a half an hour condensed (!) highlight report on one of the sports channels - worked like a charm for me, like Nascar without cars....
you kind of lost me there! Did I ever whine about loosing or criticize India's win? India was the better team on the day and won the match!
I know you are happy winning such a big contest but that doesn't mean you should take your pants off and start running around naked but then I guess you can't really help it.. can you? ( http://www.hindustantimes.com/Immora...e1-679416.aspx)
have fun!
Brother... for every Poonam there is a Veena Mallik.. so let us not throw dung at each other in a public forum...
Did I not add enough smileys on my last post to add the much needed touch of humor there...Why get serious dude...take a chill pill
No one is questioning if you whined enough...who cares...
If pulling my pants down and running naked takes me high...close your eyes...you are not invited to the party brother...
My oh my, you are at another level of say...."intellect"! So, I give up! have fun taking off your pants and stuff

Different people do different stuff to get attention. This is a starlet trying for her 15 minutes of fame under the sun. To each her own, what's wrong with that. There have been any number of male and female streakers running across the football, rugby, Aussie rules fields, tennis courts etc. over the years.
Sample this " Larissa Riquelme, a model who attracted global fame by pledging to run naked through the streets of Paraguay's capital Asuncion if her country won the 2010 football World Cup.
Paraguay were knocked out by Spain in the quarter-finals and she instead posed nude in front of her national flag."

I should've probably mentioned this... pulling down/taking off ones pants is considered a shameful act in my culture.... so for example someone says... "I'll take your pants off for this" means I'll humiliate you for this!
So when I said "doesn't mean you take off your pants and start running around naked" it meant : "don't humiliate yourself and feel proud at the same time"
I never said that model taking off her clothes is a bad thing! She wants fame, she feels like it.. good for her.... in fact I would love to watch the finals just to see her

Enlighten us please, in which cultures is this a matter of pride?

Re: (Cricket World Cup) India-Pakistan [and other matches]
Since the weather is so brilliant on the weekend, are there any places in Basel which will telecast the match live in an outdoor venue (e.g. beergarden, outside seating area)?
Congrats to India and best wishes to Pakistan. Neither team played particularly well and at the end the only dividing factor was the fielding, which in the case of the Pakistanis was really awful.
If the Indian batting continues this way, there is no chance that they will win against Sri Lanka on Saturday.
Inspite of the huge pressure and the stakes involved, both teams conducted themselves extraordinarily well yesterday, especially when you consider that losing in a knock out match in the WC to their arch rival is almost like voluntarily stepping down from the sport.
May the best team win on Saturday. I will be supporting India, although the head tells me that its Sri Lankas day.

Team India Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni did apologize last night when he felt he had misread the Mohali pitch and missed a trick by not including R Ashwin in the team.

Regarding God the only God I have ever seen in my life is a midget with mad skillz and he plays for India!
Yes Akhtar should have played yesterday as India would have batted Pak out of the match. We are not even talking about Akhtar at his peak but a liposuction, non nando taking huffing and puffing Akhtar lol

+1 yeah can't agree more .. I don't think India played
marvellously well.
The only thing ultimately was we won as we were slightly better than the pakistanis when it came to fielding
Not to forget Indian Team had an added advantage of playing at home
I hope they play their best in Mumbai

On a related question: The Indian flag has three colors that would make great sport suits. Even a "home" and "away" kit to make sure they are not "too green" to be mixed up with Pakistan... Why do they wear blue instead?
