Re: England vs. Germany 08/22/07

Good question, I would like to join (even though I would be cheering for the German team, albeit quietly).

Going for a draw personally. No doubt they're be two quite weakened sides fielded.

Since the most successful English coach since 1966 was fired (yeah Im talking about SGE), I don't believe in the English National team anymore. Nevertheless, it is the most interesting game t'night

Some of us are heading to Mr. Pickwick (Rindermarkt 6, ZH) to watch the game, dunno if the pub is any good.

Its more commonly known as "The Oliver Twist" or "The Twist" if you are into the whole brevity-thing.

Youd be better in the Nelson, as they sell Staropramen.

Regardless of what it says on the tin, I consider The Twist to be an Aussie/South African Rugger bar... hence my not going there very often.

Nelson is a very decent footie bar plenty of screens with various matches playing simultaneously plus its got the English feel and a decent mix of English fans and Swiss fans.

Second I would say Paddy's, a long way down the list comes Lion... and then much, much later The Twist.

Ahh you mean sticky floors, stinky bogs and a lot of pissed and loud women;
can someone go there with a saw as well, and remove all the obstructions they seem to have placed in front of every telly in the pub.

Bit harsh on Sir Robert Robson, he got them to a semi final you know!

Re: England vs. Germany 08/22/07

At least in the second half, it was 11 -vs- 11. In the first half, it seemed Robinson was auditioning for a German passport!!

hi, please note the swiss team will be eager that night to restore their self-respect against the uk in football,

after they have been kicked-flipped and washed with Dutch butter and cheese tonight in Geneva
Oh really? Do you know what the words "eat crow" mean?
