Booing Bentley was ridiculous, but where do you stand on say, the booing of Fat Frank Lampard?

Bentley was an arse - pulling out at after the last minute because of tiredness is ridiculous, Personally I think McClown should have left him out for a lot longer, however booing him was silly.
Fat Frank though, I think the fans were booing at his continued inclusion and I can see some justification for that.

Re: England Euro 2008 - Great Article

I can't see any, really.

I don't like Lampard much as a bloke (from what I've read in interviews, anyway), but he doesn't deserve half of the crap he gets from fans. As that article says, if it wasn't for his goals from midfield it's arguable that we would have not made the World Cup in 2006 - and yes, when he missed a couple of blatant sitters during that tournament I was gutted but still, he does make a valuable contributon.

And no, he wouldn't be in my first XI for England, but then I'm not England manager and there's probably some very good reasons for that.

The only analogy I can draw is that before I started playing guitar, I listened to music and thought "Yeah, that's quite good" - the better I get on guitar (a long and painful process) the more I start thinking "Jesus, some of this stuff is unbelievable". And often it's the stuff that you take totally for granted.

Now, I'm not saying that Lampard is an unsung superhero of the England team (clearly that's Owen Hargreaves and/or Phil Neville) but I am certainly saying that I can see the argument that perhaps a little bit of knowledge isn't enough to start making sweeping assertions about professionals in the field.
