I know this is a difficult concept to grasp, given you are part of the scouse infallibility movement, but two separate people can have similar opinions without being affiliated to one another.

I am only seeing one person acting like a loud idiot, so on the balance of probability, I am going to convict you of that, after all isn't that the whole point of this discussion?

your well thought argument and reasoning can surely leave no one in any doubt

people in football dont like him beacuase of this

GIFSoup

and this

add in the fact he has just racially abused someone (FACT) then i think he wins

As for Evra's abuse - were I to believe I was racially abused (see, not saying he was or wasn't - just that he believed he was - balanced opinion), I'm pretty sure I'd have something to say about it too, so it seems generally agreed he hit back with a 2nd or 3rd degree epithet (sudaco), which whilst unpleasant (similar to maybe Jock or Taffy) isn't exactly invoking the 'N' word. He probably should have a game or two ban, for fairness' sake though, but for once the FA are reluctant to punish retaliation it seems.
Why is the "N" word worse than the "S" word? Not sure that a poor South American immigrant living in Madrid/Barcelona would agree with that one. The person on the receiving end of such abuse is hardly going to any be less offended. But that's how it is unfortunately - the use certain words provoke more hysteria than others, often unjustifiably so. But racism shouldn't be a one way street.

And why even is the use of "N" word worse than the threat of physical abuse? Maybe guidelines should be given to all players - Words A,B,C will get you a 2 game ban, words D,E,F,G a 3 game ban etc. I'm only half joking.

Sorry, I am not against Suarez as said previously, but this is just utter pap.

"We Reds know Suarez is not racist" - How exactly, are you bezzie mates with him? Have you ever spoken to him, or spent any time in his company. No, you don't know, like we don't know, so spare us your nonsense platitudes. Gary Lineker might be a necrophiliac rapist, but neither of us know whether that is true or not, so how about we don't comment on what we don't know, and give everyone else a bit of peace.

Agreeing with something that negatively impacts Liverpool doesn't necessarily mean we're all against you. Had Robin van Persie done something similar, I would be disgusted, and would hope he would get punished, but luckily, he seems to have grown out of such nonsense and is a good ambassador for our club.
Nonsense platitudes??? I thought you had brains before this pathetic post. It is you who's chatting nonsense, not me. Luckily, I rise over people like you. Just because I have a different point of view does not make it nonsense. Weren't you taught manners?

How do you base your opinions ... on what the FA decides? Sure, follow the leader and don't use your own brain. Why don't you do your own investigating? Simply because it doesn't matter to you. Had it been RVP, you'd have dug deeper, as I have done.

I'm from Africa and have spent my time in Latin American cultures. I know exactly what negrito and sudaca mean. For someone like you who only thinks the 'N' word is racist then let me educate you; the world does not only revolve around English, there are other cultures out there ... HELLO!!!! Sudaca is offensive in Latin America, extremely offensive, where as negrito is not. Whether you agree or not doesn't matter, because you have no clue. Ask someone from South America.

I have experienced my share of racism and I have every right to make my own judgement. I don't need to explain to you why. You don't know Suarez either, so don't make a judgement. Don't just follow some pathetic association that makes a ruling without having a clue about the different cultures involved.

You can have your own thoughts, it don't matter to me one bit. Just be a bit polite.

I agree to an extent, and as I said, I thought that Evra should also have been punished, albeit to a lesser extent.

If every threat of violence was called though, most games would be abandoned after 10 mins. I don't think there's really much wrong with telling someone "I'm gonna do you next time you get the ball", as long as you don't actually do it. Threats are all part of the psychological warfare out on the pitch, but when it spills into outright racism/homphobia/etc then you have a crossed a line.

I assume the severity of perception of a word is decided by the connotations that it brings. If someone calls me a Jock/Sweaty/Sheepsha**er etc, then I am not terribly offended, and if they used any of those terms in a rage at me, i'd probably not be able to stifle a giggle. However, these terms don't carry the baggage of centuries of subjugation, slavery and sub-human treatment, so that's probably the difference.

Monkeynut, I'm from Africa. I prove your statement wrong.

In fact, I supported Ghana throughout and was very bitter at what happened in the game. But not at Suarez, at the fact that we missed the flippin penalty. I spend a lot of time in East Africa, and no none hates him. If anyone does in Africa, it's only people from Ghana. Not the entire flippin continent.

First you state he's the most hated player in the league when your own Shrek holds 1st spot, followed by JT and then Joey Barton ... then you say everyone on a continent hates him. Please, think before you write...

Are you English? Do you still hate Maradona? Or are you Irish and do you hate Henry? Or are you French and do you hate Materazzi? Do you see...

Of course you're a Man Utd supporter, there was never any doubt...

Calm down, let's step through this rationally and non-hysterically. Good.

Firstly, I said I know Suarez as well as you do, i.e. not at all, so neither of us can make an accurate judgement call on his character. I base my opinions not only on the report, but his history of questionable behaviour on the field - I genuinely don't think he's a very nice man, especially when enraged.

Secondly, I don't have the direct knowledge of 'Sudaca' that you do, but I'm not sure you can dismiss all 'Nig-/Neg-' words as less offensive than Sudaca because you are Latin American. Don't forget that the person who used the term was a Frenchman in England. That apart, I'm not sure that Sudaca has the weight of oppression and maltreatment that the 'N' word does.

Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I appreciate the calm tone SitrB.

I do not dismiss all N words, of course not. Not at all man. I don't think it was the right thing to say eventhough it's not offensive in Suarez's culture. He should be wise enough not to say such things especially in a country like England. Actually, I respect England a hell of a lot. Racism is illegal in England, something that I find absolutely fantastic.

I'd like to advise you that sudaca is a very offensive term and more offensive in South America than negrito is. So yes, it does have the weight, actually a greater weight than negrito. Had this happened in South America, there'd have been very different outcomes.

I'm glad to be informed of these things, so thanks for the update.

Without trying to provoke anything though, my Latin American history is fairly poor (i.e. non-existant), but I do know the Conquistadors weren't the friendliest of people to the natives. Did they also make slaves of the local people? If so, and Sudaca refers to this period, then I can understand the sensitivity of the term.

Suarez isn't new to Europe however. Having lived in Amsterdam (long enough to learn the language and culture), he would definitely have known how offensive what he said was. There's no way you'd get away with saying it in Holland either, so I'm not really buying the culture clash thing. As I said, I'm not painting Evra as innocent either, he was a bit of a tw@t too, but he was a tw@t once, not 7/8 times.

Only if you're a manc...boohoohoo

Fergie can have all is influence off the pitch, but on the pitch it's a different story ...

Suarez will never be as hated as hairless Shrek, crying baby Nani, thick ugly Neville, little girl Van de Sar, pink shorts Ronaldo or the actress Cantona ... you Mancs not only hold the record of league titles, you hold and will always hold the most despised players and manager of the league.
