Peter Crouch gets nothing for sticking his fingers in Jonas Olsson's eye?

I can't defend Balo even though I am a City fan - he was bloody stupid. (He didn't stamp on Parker's face, he missed otherwise the punsihment would have been worse)

Having said that the retrospective punishments only seem to be invoked when there's a media frenzy.

Personally, as a City fan, I'm sick and tired of a game ending and spending time moaning about the ref. If a ref is doing his job properly he should be invisible. Phil Dowd had another howler last night. In fact there seems to have been a staedy stream of refereeing mares since we put 6 past Yernited.

Our next game is at Everton at night with Peter Walton reffing. Oh joy.
City are in danger of getting as bad as their neighbours complaining about the referee everytime they draw or lose.

A film crew just walked inpremier-league-2011-12-20120211_164646.jpgto the Nelson pub in Zurich. Someone told me it's Arsenal TV.

Re: Premier LEAGUE 2011/12

Aye, I was in there supporting the gooners on the other screen. You had to be a member of the 'Zurich Supporters Club' to get on TV.

Never mind none of them are actually ever there and just turned up for the cameras, or that they were singing songs which they never normally do.

As a Gooner I am embarassed that this will be going on the website, was the most forced acting I have seen in a while!

That said, if I am on it, during the Henry celebration, then all is forgiven and it was a great idea

I suppose there is always next year, the year after and the year after....

Lets just agree that Liverpool will never be as dominant as they were in the 80's

Re: Premier LEAGUE 2011/12

I started off supporting Chelsea, but they did`nt do so well and there was`nt a great atmosphere at their games, the pub was really quiet sometimes.

So then i started to supported Manchester United,or Man U as we Reds like to call them. But they were abit rubbish too.

It was clear to me that Manchester City were the best team to support because they have got loads of money and were top.

But,it now looks as if it`s Man U who are the best,so i`ve decided to be a real fan and show some loyalty by getting back down the pub with my Red Devils shirt on once again!

U-NI-TED!

It still amazes me that ManU supporters are still more interested in Liverpool than their own team

Better start thinking about next season, whos gonna take the title, you may have to get some new shirts in just in case, If Arsenal keep up their form it could be theirs next year, or Newcastle, theyve had some bloody good reults this year.
Praps you'd better keep your options open and buy a whole set of Premier League teams shirts

Thanks for the advice Chappers and yes i noticed Newcastle United seem to be getting better. They`ve got no history (well they`ve never won the Premier and who cares about English football before that!) and hav`nt won as many cups as United though,so i don`t think i`ll be becoming a Jordi.

I`m hoping us Red Devils buy Messi and then we can keep being the best.

Then i`ll take my seat down the pub, like all real footie fans.

Re: Premier LEAGUE 2011/12

Just a word about Liverpool's current ongoing slump. I watched last night's game against Blackburn and was delighted to see that with a bunch of youngsters and bit-players, they put up a far more impressive performance than they have done in recent weeks with their apparent stars. Shelvey and Spearing are really settling into their roles, Coates looks very solid (apart from the marking on the Yakumba goal) and even Henderson and Carroll had pretty significant games. Maxi is always worth a goal or too as well. Added to the fact they were a man down, using a 3rd string goalie and away from home against a team fighting for survival, I was really pleased with the effort and the result.
Compare that to the dross against Newcastle, for example, and it makes you think Kenny should be throwing in some of these players a lot more. There's nothing to lose, we have secured a Europa league spot, the CL and EPL are out of reach and we have a semi-final coming up. Why not?

Not sure we were watching the same game mate!

I was cheering Liverpool on as I want Bolton to stay up, but I thought Flanagan was a liability, and should have been off. Doni was correctly sent off. Spearing wasn't great and neither was Henderson. I'm not sure you can get too excited about the youngsters (Kelly aside, he looks handy).

Had they not been playing Blackburn, who really are awful (see the 1st Yak's peno!), I think they'd have been beaten, even with their 2 goal headstart.

Unfortunately, I missed it up to just when the pen was being taken. Considering they had to re-organise with 10 men with Henderson at right-back, I think they made a pretty good effort, he looked better there than playing right midfield if truth be told. I can't comment on on Flanagan in this game, but he has played well in the past when thrown in at the deep end. Spearing has been pretty solid filling in for Lucas and Shelvey has been improving all the time. I'd heard good things about Pacheco, Sterling and SuCo and would love to see them get a run out.
