Slammed! You have to give it to the Welsh, a stirling performance throughout 2012 6 Nations
Not so sure about that - Ireland game was close and England conspired to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Still, records will show Wales got the GS, and I've always said good teams make their own luck, so congrats.

If only France had won by 10, England's defeat of Ireland might have been a bit more interesting...

I've not seen a pack so dominated for a while - I felt both scrum time and lineout were massive (the latter in particular much improved over the 6N & last couple of matches). Shame we couldn't put over a few tries to match the forwards' dominance.

All that being said, TBH the result made we wonder if England are improving or not.

On paper, they are worse than last year when England won the 6N. But it is a young team, and much has been made about the lack of caps against all the other 6N teams. With this in mind they stood up well.

The flip side is that despite hammering the Irish forwards, the backs just didn't seem to get in the game. They showed more skill against Wales and, in particular, France, yet had more dominance up-front against the Irish. This makes me think that going forward they still don't have the ability to break down a good defence.

Was it just the weather & slippery conditions, which to be fair affected bother teams? Dunno... I'm curious to see what happens to Lancaster now.

But back to the scrums vs. Ireland and indeed Wales and France (where the "experts" expected England to have a torrid time). As a former loose head, made me glow...

Roll on the summer tours.

Agreed. Although I'd be interested to hear if the Welsh here appreciated the manner of the Slam - I think they have sacrificed some style for efficiency.

(I'd only like to hear from the educated and smart ones - not the bite-y little terriers with the inferiority complex who prowl around sometimes )
I'm still going to reply even though I am one of the terriers but complex? No. I'm Welsh.
I don't believe Wales played with the flair they did in the WC but in saying that, they did play on wet pitches and in weather not as favourable as in New Zealand. They also had a bit of luck, the penalty against Ireland in the dying seconds but they did have the ball and could have gone on to score. The was it or wasn't it try for England but they would still have had to have kicked from a tight angle for a draw. I believe that the side Wales have will get better but also the English side will get better, so we will have to now wait until the 2013 6N to find out which side progresses the most.

To be honest after the WC I'm suprised he's still reffing at a high level! Yesterday was proof that he should no longer be doing the job...
uhhh... Wayne Barnes & Blind Dave Pearson being demoted , Rolland remains... seems that I was right and player safety is utmost in the mind of those who govern the game.

Re: 6 Nations 2012

In further news it seems that Bitey Hartley gets convicted for biting Stephen Ferris in the Eng Ire match and gets a ... wait for it... 8 week ban... less than the entry level ban of 12 weeks.
