The 2014 Formula 1 World Championship

Not sure if Ricciardo will win the appeal.

I think a new season deserves a new thread (but then I'm biased)

The car is so good that even these two seem brilliant in it.
Reminds me of the season with the Brawn cars.

ha, might be that you still underestimated them. So many examples when a bad pilot can ruin a performance of the best car.

Reminds me of the last four seasons with Redbull. Hats off, great car. Where is Vettel this year compared to his team mate - could he have gained his "great" status purely because he was in a far better car?

And he failed to comply with team orders.

Good question. In any case, isn't it just great to see a different team in the mix. I can honestly say I don't miss Redbull one bit at the moment. Having said that, let them lose a few seasons then I will support them! Us Brits always love an underdog!

I agree that it is good to have a change, but have question marks about how these changes take place. For example, instead of Perez or Massa, I would like to see Alonso and Raikkonen. It is just too much of a lottery at the moment. And, sadly, the regulations do not really allow improving the engines.

My prediction: after 10 races between Rosberg and Hamilton, it will get boring for everyone

Re: The 2014 Formula 1 World Championship

Vettel who?

Just goes to show that its just as much about the car/team as it is about the driver.
Were Hamilton and Rosberg any worse than Vettel these past couple years? No. Redbull had just found the perfect formula (Formula 1? ) to smash the competition.
On Webber - being Aussie myself Im a bit bias, but id like to think he just had a lot of misfortune with his car..

Vettel isn't as good in a 'not so good' car as the likes of Hamilton and Alonso. He just got lucky with the car over the past seasons.

Why 10 races, Mercedes have got the engine performance and efficiency so correct the season is basically already over. Wonder how much they paid the FAI to move the engine requirements to what they already had in the blueprint.

Well done Lewis. Not sure what I want more. Hamilton winning the championship or Ricciardo finishing ahead of Vettel the sulk.

It's been boring for years and still is.

We need racing courses for purists with tight corners, hills, long, long straight stretches ending in a one lane exit and tyre changes only when wheel punctured. And, the start positions should be drawn out of a hat.
That would give the 'underdogs' a chance.

Not really. Rosberg started 4th. Was 6th at one point after a collision and still made second by a comfortable margin.

Good that Vettel is being revealed as the average driver that he is

The last race in Bahrain certainly wasn't boring.

Hardly an average driver with four world championships under his belt, just not in the league of Hammy or Alonso.
