Re: Hatred of football

The only thing I like about football is the sexy players.

(Assuming we are NOT talking about American football, here! )

Re: Hatred of football

It's not the game that irritates me, it's the people who actually watch what must be one of the most boring sports ever that really get my back up.

Wandering into a Zürich "English/Irish" pub when football is on (seriously what proper pub has TVs) is like entering the world of the Walking Dead. Slobbering at the sight of a football, a gutteral howl whenever somebody gets close to that net thingy, and mutterances in a vague language inbetween.

Amazingly all of these people are fine when not exposed to a football. Go figure.

Re: Hatred of football

Thanks, DB. I knew I'd seen it somewhere before.

OP if you hate European Football, try American. More scoring but less acting/showboating/intentionally flopping on the field. Downside: Can't admire the players' toned bods, as all the linemen have to be over 300 pounds just to get a job. Those that aren't linemen are covered in armor. Upside: cheerleaders.

p { margin-bottom: 0.1in; line-height: 120%; } “I like football”.

An astounding intellectual statement.

Wouldn't it be great if some of the 6-figure weekly salaries paid to these semi-literate fckwits could be paid to nurses working 24/7 to fund the NHS?

Who do you think is most deserving?

Whadda think?

A POSEUR who regularly changes hands for millions and occasionally gets lucky to feature on MOTD or somebody who struggles daily on the minimum wage?

If, heaven forbid, a member of your family had to be admitted to emergency after a major incident who would you want to be in attendance?

Sure as fck I would not want to want to awake to see a picture of Beckham or any of the other morons.

Sure, if you want to watch footie then I will not deny you that.

You already have your own dedicated channels.

BUT PLEASE DO NOT STUFF IT DOWN MY THROAT AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY.

Re: Pathological hatred of football

No offence suffered.

But wouldn't it be great if some of the BILLIONS that are involved in this major industry, and that's what it really is, were spent on keeping schoolkids fit and healthy?

I am of the opinion that the only spend is to advertize and extend the gravy train enjoyed by the management.

I'm sure Sepp and his mates would disagree with me. But fck them. They are totally corrupt.

What do you, and other footie fans, do to ensure that the vast sums involved are distributed to the ground level and are not siphoned off by the parasites at the top?

Don't know about ratbag's football, but the professional playoffs for MY football are what helps me get through the winter after Christmas. (At least through early February.)
