The 2015 F1 Thread

So who will actually make it to the grid in 2015 for a start

think its a given marussia and caterham are gonners, but its also not looking good for force india, will sauber make it? will they be back markers again? who will fold this year? I'll be surprise if Lotus manage to last the season unless by some fluke they manage to win a race or two

Hoping Williams manage to build on last year's season

Re: The 2015 F1 Thread

Next year will be fun. Honda will have a chance to compete (doubt they will get more tokens for engine changes this season, it wasn't Bernie's fault they didn't compete last season), Mercedes will be back in the realm of approachable (doubt their pace are anywhere near the rest of the field again), and we get HAAS! Haas has a really strong chance of being a good competitor in 2017, but it will be fun to see a new team fielded.

This year, I think RBR will be weak due to Kvyat, Ricciardo could probably still use help developing the car. TR is insane... 2 future world champions there likely.

Would be nice to see some competition, but my wager is Mercedes will still be untouchable. I doubt they hit the theoretical limit of their power unit in the first season of development

HAAS?? lol running a 2nd had ferrari with some no hoping drivers, don't think so, IF they make it to the grid they'll be the new Caterham.

Can't see Marussia coming back unless its just someone turning up to get the prize money from lastyear and then disappearing again

Hoping Williams manage to build on last year's season
The BBC Sport pages this afternoon were showing that the Day 4 Practice Sessions were being led (lap times) by Sauber.

I agree on the Williams comment. They looked really strong last year, compared to where they'd come from in seasons gone.

Re: The 2015 F1 Thread

testing means nothing at all, the sauber could have been (probably was) totally illegal just to get the headlines, all the other teams are saying the merc engined cars where sandbagging too

Based on test times Ferrari will win every race this season.

I suspect that neither the Merc or the Williams genuinely opened the taps.

Re: The 2015 F1 Thread

if stories are to be believed then Marussia may well be back, they have come to agreements with there creditors (so mostly Ferrari I guess), Ferrari B-team? that will make things interesting come next year, Ferrari, Ferrari B, Haas Ferrari (C team) and (maybe) Sauber Ferrari

And they still wont beat a merc engined car lol

And the F1 teams vote no to allowing 2014 cars to race in 2015

Bye Bye Marussia and Caterham

Re: The 2015 F1 Thread

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?
Mika Hakkinen: Why did the chicken cross the road? (pause) that's tough question (pause) maybe (pause) maybe it's a question you have to ask the chicken.

David Coulthard: I was really surprised when the chicken swerved right in front of me and crossed the road. I was expecting it to walk straight along the pavement, but it just cut right across in front of me. I think we'll need a ruling from the FIA if chickens are allowed to do this.

Michael Schumacher: The chicken is allowed to move over, that is clearly within the rules. The chicken can make one move to defend his line. But it can't zig-zag backwards and forwards across the road. What it did was quite fair and within the rules.

Luca di Montezemolo: The chicken knew that it couldn't get to the other side of the road first, it had to wait for the rooster and let it through.

Ron Dennis: The objective of the poultry individual in this situation is to work towards the goal of a road crossing. We're comfortable that that can be achieved using only bi-ped motional forces. We would refuse to compromise until a safe chicken arrival scenario had been achieved.

Alain Prost: For sure the chicken crossed the road. But for me it was not as interesting as chickens crossing the road ten years ago.

Rubens Barrichello: I'd like to dedicate the chicken crossing the road to my great friend Ayrton Senna

Max Mosley: We have to find ways of slowing chickens down and making them safer. For that reason the FIA are changing the rules so that chickens crossing roads will be equipped with special chicken bodywork and neck supports.

Jacques Villeneuve: So what the f*** if the chicken gets run over. The chicken wanted to cross the road.

James Allen: Hey guys, you're not going to believe this, but the chicken's on a different strategy to the bantams.

Murray and Martin
Murray: And as the lights go out, it's GO GO GO for the duck as it dives towards...
Martin: It's a chicken Murray.
Murray: Yes, yes, it's a chicken, charging into the lead. I think it's got this race sewn up.
Martin: The chicken's stopped, Murray.
Murray: DISASTER for the chicken! This will throw the whole badger crossing championship wide open!

Situation at sauber seems to be going from bad to worse, seems they won't fax the fia so they can approve his super licence, so directly in contempt of court. I wonder which website she bought her law degree from??

Re: The 2015 F1 Thread

You can have a great "formula" weekend this weekend. Formula E have their next race in Miami on Saturday (quite interesting contrast to F1, qualifying and race on the same day and very competitive actually) and then the F1 race on Sunday. Formula E is on ITV 4 at 7pm UK time, highlights programme Sunday morning at 10am and BT Sport 2 also has coverage on Sunday at 3pm UK time.
