I can tell you, Jogi Löw currently doesn't think we are good losers.
Why? What did he say? Did I miss something?

He didn't say much, but everybody now knew since 2014 that this was going to be a disaster and it is all his fault and 83 million people in Germany would have done a better job.

Re: Euro 2020

bring on Hansi Frickin' Fick!

I think you could see it for years with Löw, he did not seem happy. I think he also missed his sidekick who might have been the brains behind the operation.

He did bring dapper to the touchline though

Re: Euro 2020

Speaking of bad losers:

Quote:
German minister calls Uefa ‘irresponsible’ to allow UK to host Euro 2020 finals

The German interior minister has called Uefa’s decision to hold Euro 2020 semifinals and finals in the UK as “absolutely irresponsible”, in view of the spread of the infectious Delta variant in Britain.

“I suspect that once again it’s all about commercial [interests],” Horst Seehofer told reporters in Berlin. “But commercial interests should not override the need to protect people from infections.”

Seehofer said he considered the position taken by Uefa, European football’s governing body, “absolutely irresponsible, because we are in a pandemic and precisely in countries like Great Britain we’re seeing a sharp increase in infections”.

“[In such a situation], it is imperative to avoid contact and adhere to hygiene regulations if we are to stop infections [spreading],” he added.

He said that when one sees images of people standing close to each other in stadiums and hugging after goals are scored, it is “clear that that spreads infections”.

Seehofer said that at the Euro 2020 matches held in Munich, authorities had enforced strict rules, only allowing 14,000 fans into a stadium that has a capacity of 80,000.

“People sat far from each other, and that worked,” he said. “I can’t explain why Uefa isn’t following this line of common sense.”

Seehofer said that Uefa had previously demanded that spectators be admitted to the stadium in Munich, despite the misgivings of local health authorities. The organisation said that “otherwise, [Munich] would not be considered as a venue”.

“I found that irresponsible at the time,” he said.

From the Swiss perspective I call this an act of war against the Republic and Canton Vaud, UEFA HQ located in Nyon Also enjoy how la petite Suisse won the negotiation of letting spectators inside the stadium in Munich.

The original article is behind a paywall so I couldn't check the date.

But it seems to me is he trying to lock the stable after the horse has bolted.

If he had concerns he could have voiced these ahead of the championship.

And what's the good of limiting the number of people allowed inside the stadium at Munich while there were many more people outside and in the fan zones, getting close and hugging.

Re: Euro 2020

Comparing to Saint Petersburg where Switzerland plays tomorrow England is pretty safe. These days Russia breaks it's records of Coronavirus deaths through the whole pandemic and only 11% of population is vaccinated. Just about time for Swiss fans to go there and return with Delta mutation, just as Finnish fans did.

Re: Euro 2020

Fundamentally he is not wrong but rather too specific. There is a lot of talk that fans attending games are leading to new infection peaks. Scottish fans, Finnish fans, probably more.

At least Luca is going to Leningrad, sorry St Petersburg….

Indeed, when I watched the France-Hungary match in Budapest it looked like the stadium was at 100% capacity. But somehow Mr. Moral Superior......errrr, German Interior Minister only has eyes for the UK.

Re: Euro 2020

I honestly think that Lowe's Germany started their downturn coinciding with that grotesque finger sniffing incident. What a freak! How can you get a team to respect you after looking like a senile hobo doing weird stuff in public. Literally imagine doing that?

Does anyone on this forum have the story from Germany, like how it went down over there? I know it's not the end of the world of course but I don't know ... probably he was lucky that he did something so gross literally everyone wants to pretend it never happened.

Yeah, it's absolutely gross.

Just imagine if players spit on the grass they're going to fall down on a bit later, there's no doubt nobody would even think of participating in these games any more.

Re: Euro 2020

I think you're making a joke with sarcasm and thats fair enough. Each to their own standards of course. In my opinion I don't see the correlation to Mr rub his balls and sniff his fingers yeuch. Players spit coz of the sport intensity, hobos shove their hands in their pants and sniff them proudly in the middle of the high street coz theyre deranged.

He gave out a pretty bad grilling to Hungary too.

To the point that there was an official diplomatic complaint that he had overstepped the mark.
