| | Rugby World Cup 2007 [in general]
Hi everyone
Can someone tell me how to watch the RWC in Switzerland ? I have tried to Email them directly but without getting any response. I am also willing to buy / pay to have this possibility. I assume that there will be no or only a couple of matches aired in Switzerland. I cant speak French so it will have to be in English.
Would be great if someone can point me in the right direction.
Thank you in advance

France 2/3 will show it all. Italian channels will likely show it all.
The picture will be the same no matter what the language is |

The only Italian channel that shows rugby is the terrestrial (free) La 7. During the 6N they show all matches live and, this year, they even put up maxi-screens in the Piazza del Populo in Rome and Piazza del Duomo in Milan so that those without tickets (and there were thousands of those) could watch.
I don't yet know what their WC output will be, but at the last WC they showed all Italian matches, a couple of quarters, a semi and the Final live. Mind you, they were taking a massive punt, but their viewing figures were massive so they decided to go ahead with full coverage of the 6N.
Commentary will only be in Italian, so if you elect to go this route, turn down the TV volume and try to pick up a suitable radio channel.

Six glorious weeks of rugby. Bring it on.
The logistics of an Englishforum sweepstake are a bit beyond me, but if anyone can figure out how to do it, count me in.

....BEST place to watch rugby would be the Oliver Twist in the Niederdorf (they have boerewors rolls, braaivleis and potjie....and beer to help the games to down better)...otherwise Lady Hamilton where the local rugby Club guys hang out or Paddy Reillys...there are other places too but they are less reliable when it comes to all games being broadcast...which one do you prefer?

Ok, this is just to see what the response is like as this is still only a possibility but I may have 2 tickets to the game on Friday night : England vs South Africa
Would anyone be interested in taking the other ticket?
Cost for the ticket alone is approx. 400 chf that's excluding the train trip to Paris (approx. 280 chf with half fair card)
I'm only going to take the tickets if someone else goes as I'm not going to pay for 2 tickets and only use one....
As I said this is a possibility, if someone is interested let me know and I'll keep you updated... Ciao
P.S - I'll be waving the SA flag... RUGBY WORLD CUP 2007 MATCH England vs South Africa

Interesting article with some insights on Vickery ... doesn't look good. | Quote: | | | | The citing mechanism is activated only for offences which, in the opinion of the match commissioner, should have merited a red card. In those circumstances Vickery, who has already admitted tripping the American centre Paul Emerick, has few mitigating legs to stand on. | | | | | |

Does anyone think that The Lion Bar will play the Rugby on Saturday? I had a look at their web site and they have not updated their TV Screening Programme.

I watched it on ITV1, thankfully, as hearing the French commentators calling their national team is unbearable. |

Well, france got a humping and it looks awfully like NZ are racking up a cricket score against Italy. Anyone else watching?

All Blacks is becoming a little monotonous (for us non-Kiwis) off to the park for a kickaround ....
